I think the real gem is after the Dr catches on
Dr : "Hello"
River : "Hello"
( Dr childishly laughs )
Dr : "But that means "
River : "I'm afraid it does"
( The doctor then turns and looks at amy and rory, realising they are the parents )

Yeah, I just watched that bit again... his reaction was all giggly, probably because he's just been talking to that very baby, and then the look he casts back at Amy and Rory is almost one of "eeek, I kissed my friends' kid!"... it definitely seems like he knows something more, though... as if he knows a story or something about her that suddenly makes sense? Otherwise I don't know about knowing exactly where to find her...

Moffat answered a tweet about the writing. He said the Doctor wasn't looking at the writing on the side of the cot, but at the writing on the prayer leaf inside the cot.

Well, we have now established the existence of virtually undetectable doubles of major characters, i.e. The Flesh. I know we saw a proper body of a dead doctor and not a fleshy puddle, but who's to say that flesh doesn't die and retain form if it's shot rather than signal interrupted or acid-melted?

Buzzer was shot and killed and didn't turn into goo so we already know flesh only reverts if the signal is broken or a certain frequency is applied (I suspect that broke the link between the flesh cells)

Does that mean the doctor that was shot was Doctor Goo though? I doubt it.

Of all the theories still swirling about on here after Sat's ep, what with the cot and writing and everything, I am still shocked that anyone could come away with even the slightest confusion over Rivers' identity-she is Amy and Rory's kid.

A bit too obvious? You mean like Pond and River? Big water theme going on here with these names, I said to my son sometime during the Christmas Special, and again when Idris appeared. There's not much subtlety in the writing of this program, you know.
Classic Dr. Who, to use an enemy's tactics against themselves. The fact that they like to add in concepts that become apparent later on, e.g. The Chameleon Arch, and I reckon that the 'dead' doctor is a ganger.

Unlike the Pond and River thing it seems they're deliberately pointing out that the doctor has a Ganger and Amy even asks if it could be a clone or something.
I may well be wrong, but I just feel the fact that they've gone to great pains to show people can have clones and then actually created one for the doctor, means it's probably a red herring.
Still they'll have to let the doctor survive somehow so I dunno.

exactly. red herring, besides Canton pretty much tells us it is the doctor, i kinda took that as a message from moffat himself to the audience on second viewing. They are going to have to re-write history to save the doctor

If River is also the person in the astronaut suit who kills the Doctor, then surely River on the beach would remember doing it.

Perhaps she did remember then and on her failure to kill the astronaut she said "Of course not."
I guess it was then that she killed a good man. Of course it could be another red herring.

I suspect, and I may well be wrong but just to make it fit. River is the girl in the astronaut suit and kills the doctor but she has no memory of actually doing that because she's been kidnapped and raised to be a weapon to kill the doctor. Kinda like a sleeper agent and had been programmed.

The only way to break her programming is to let her complete her mission which is why the Doctor has no issue letting her kill him, as we all know the Doctor has no problem letting himself die to save others, it's just his friends don't usually let him.

The doctor that dies could be a ganger, I know it seems a bit obvious but we know the Doctor thought of his ganger as his equal and the same as him in every way, he also tested Amy to see if she could tell them apart. Also If this ganger doctor had been stabalised by the tardis then maybe he wouldn't return to goo when dead.

I suspect the good man she kills is Rory, perhaps by accident trying to get to the doctor (while under programming). It is possible the good man she kills is the Doctor but considering how many people have tried to kill him/want him dead I doubt she would end up in prison for it.
