Transformers Marvel UK-My collection from the loft
Hi guys, I have not dabbled in the comic area for quite a while, but figuring the interest in transformers these days, I thought I would...attempt...to have these valued.
Pretty tricky going by the net. Its not a complete run...got ..issue 2, then complete from 18 to 240. They have all been read so..hardly pristine...myself i would call them...fair ![]() Any pointers at where I could take that from here? |

I've got a huge amount of Marvel UK Transformers comics, most of which cover consecutive issues from about 85 through to at least 250.
I kept them for years in almost pristine condition, but about four years ago when I came to see what they were worth, no one was interested and I couldn't get rid of them for free. With lack of space at home, they've been in the boot of my car for the last 3 years. I need to put them out in the paper recycling, but I just don't have the heart. Individual issues from the 80s could be found on eBay for about £1 each a few years back. |

Did either of you try Silver Acre at http://www.silveracre.com/ ?
This is NOT a recommendation as I don't know them well enough for that as I've only encountered them a few times at the Leeds comic mart which runs every 6 weeks to a couple of months. They appear to be a reasonably large vendor however and they keep claiming that they are always interested in buying. |

As I suspected ^^^.
Both myself and the OP would be better off putting them out for the recycling bin. No charity shop would want them. G1 Transformers comics = worthless G1 Transformers toys on the other hand . . .

For starters, charity shops 'would' take them but, personally, I'd put them on Ebay as a job lot and see what happens but don't go silly with a reserve price. You could put the individual items out there but then you're reliant on a collector who wants to pick up single issues to complete their own. See what else is out there; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/transformers-c...item4aaba92b4d OK, that link is for issue 1 but it's currently going for £136 with 10 bids and just over 3 hours to go. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Transformers-U...item19c605d504 That's a job lot with a high asking price but at least it has one offer! It's just a pity that IDW recently reprinted a load of the TFUK stories as it's hit the value of the originals. |

That's not what tingramretro said.

Didn't know any of them had such value. I also don't think I know where they are now... |

Again, see my link - they're not worthless. Mind you, I'll have the first 20 off you and just pay postage if they're worthless... that should cover the gaps in my set

The first 10 or so issues are far from worthless, but after that you're looking at little more than face value.
A good few years ago I aquired issue 2 and a few other early issues which I sold on eBay for about £45. But that was very much the exception to the rule. |
