Wild idea about Demons Run poem
MiniDoctorFreak
06-06-2011
Demons run when a good man goes to war
Night will fall and drown the sun
When a good man goes to war
Friendship dies and true love lies
Night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war
Demons run but count the cost
The battles won but the child is lost

Anybody notice how it sounds a bit like a nursery rhyme, a bit like how we sing ring a ring of roses or oranges and lemons now? Sounds a bit odd like it could be part of a longer song with a few verses missing (like the guy fawkes rhyme, the first verse is usually the only one said). Could it have come about from Amy and Rory telling Melody her history as a young child and it becoming part of culture growing up (telling it to friends) which is how everybody in the future seems to have heard of the poem. The rest of the poem (if there is a rest) could be the rest of the war to save the child.

Bit of a wild theory I know so please don't kill me.

Thanks, I might've borrowed part of my idea though, see below
