well sort of.

it refuses to record.

Vision account is fine, and it seems to engage recording but the red LED never comes on and nothings recorded. Also timeshifting fails also with (not avaliable at this time).

done all the usual bits:

-rebooted box
-hard rebooted box
-rebooted hub
-hard rebooted hub
-rebooted both
-hard rebooted both
-emptied my recording and planner
-reset and formatted drive
-reset box back to original settings

all to no avail.

it then did start throwing, R02 and R06 errors, then went back to recording but no LED.

tried my friends box, which DID work. it recorded just fine.

I'm thinking the write portion of the drive is duffed.

Rang BT and they di all the above with me twice. Checking tomorrow with them, when they call back.

Tis strange, I need a new box but so far they are adamant its not the box.

Hopefully tomorrow will sort it.

Thats not good stuntmaster...

if you do need one, I have an unused black vision box, sans cardboard box, in my loft that you're welcome to have.

BT about 10 months back were under the impression I still had a BTV account, so sent it out. 2 calls and an email later I gave up trying to send it back and I've had no word from them.

so....

well, the offers' there.

thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on that. we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I am guessing that the hard disc has failed, or the config that sits on another partition has goofed up.

if I call the uk call enter they seem to understand, if I call india, then they seem to think im not pressing record properly and that my broadband is down despite the fact i talk to them through BT broadband talk.....
