Hi All
For those blamong BBC for not doing tests. Where is the bandwidth on 2D to run such tests $ky are still hogging the 2d bandwidth on 2D. They can move their channels to @A or 2B or EB1 but then Murdoch does not like public service television. He still charges for the Planet of the Apes shown on free TV! Automan. |

A little update.
Ok. So spent the afternoon checking what it could and could not do. ITVHD and CH4HD still working as normal. Tried 16 * BBC 1 HD or BBC HD recordings. 12 failed. The 4 that worked appeared to do so, because the tuner(s) were already looking at these channels. This would seem to confirm my earlier observations, that the channel switching was at the heart of the problem. The box made an alternative SD recording from some out of area local channels on BBC1, I think.
Going from experience to date, I figured that Grundig would make no effort to overcome this latest little endearing feature. So I've spent next winters heating allowance and the wifes annual clothing allowance ( oh yes I have spoiled her in the past ), on a 500 G Foxsat. Initial observations :- It's big. Even allowing for internal power unit. It's quiet. Much quieter than ageing BT vision box, and considerably quieter than the Grundig. It gives a good picture, and sound was in sync. No need to adjust. Updated reasonably quickly ............. via my home network ?????? I managed to lock it up more or less instantly, by stepping through the EPG. Mental note.... press arrow buttons slowly. Going to take a little while getting used to Humax menu again. Some things are better, some things are not. Must stop looking for the Library Key. I shall never need partition space for Photos or Music. Must look up how to deal with this "wasted" HDD space. Isn't life fun ? |

Hi savvy. Thanks for quick reply. Jigger.... too late. Guess we will have to watch this afternoon, and then deal with it. Does the re-format not cause any update or other problems ?

![]() You could move the programme onto a usb stick/drive, reformat, and move it back if you don't want to watch it that quickly. Last edited by savvy : 08-06-2011 at 11:37. Reason: typo |

. From memory this may be held on the disk as reserve.info. Long time since I did a reformat
![]() You could move the programme onto a usb stick/drive, reformat, and move it back if you don't want to watch it that quickly. If I swap discs into the internal carrier the old schedule is there. If I remove the disc from the internal carrier and do a firmware upgrade without a HDD. Replacing the disc after finds the schedule intact
