Yes it's possible, but you do realise that unless you switch off the box at night it will simply re-install V1.00.15.

Why do you want to go back ?

Someone said it auto updates every night so unless you unplug it every night or re flash every day, the answer is no.

Id love to go back to it too as its much better.

Does it auto-update if there is an active recording in progress at the time? In which case just set up a daily repeat timer from 2am to 4am.

A watch timer would cause less HDD clutter, a good idea though

Theres no positives for me and now you cant record for 30 secs after pressing the EPG and theres also something else thats got worse but I cant remember what.

I want to refresh myself as to the differences with the EPG. My memory is one thing reality is another !

Could you point me to the software ? I do realise that it would update overnight, however I turn all my gadgets off every night.

If you turn your equipment off every night you will not picup any future channel changes.

I missed this somehow, thanks for the reminder. And I can confirm the big difference is the wait for the EPG to update before setting a recording, which is the way I have always used it. And once you have a habit, it's annoying to change, specially if it works. I shall have to learn a new habit, and that is to use the schedule and red button technique.

It's hard to say if it's a deliberate decision for some reason or it's an unintended consequence of the new firmware. If the latter you may get a fix in the course of time.

Personally the way I use the box is daily press schedule if I am around to see what's going to be recorded on the current day. At the same time I ditch expired series recording reservations. If somethings missing I simply add it by pressing red. It's kind of second nature now.

The guide button is hardly ever used, so for me the fix for the power cut bug is a much greater gain than being able to set a recording before the new guide has downloaded.

It's pretty clear that a similar procedure was used by those who used the beta prior to it's release. A few from Dec 2010 and a lot more after it was announced by Barry from MyHumax. No reports of this surfaced.

oh that was the other thing, it was way better to do a scan on 1st boot rather than to have to wait 24 hours for the box to do it at 3am.

Thats the 2nd backward step with the guide problem.

Speculation: I think that Humax knew that they would not pickup the change automatically hence the housekeeping update.

On the other hand thousands of Foxsat-Hd and Foxsat-hdr turned on their boxes Monday morning and watched the BBC-HD channels totally seamlessly in blissfull ignorance of the upset caused by the change to S2. Swings and roundabouts

That wouldnt have been the case if the change was done after 3am.

Thousands would have been unable to watch either channel for 24h but with the old firmware, it would have been a 30 second scan and it would have worked for everyone as it would with any further changes, thats not the case now.

Well there appears to be two distinct types of Humax HDR posters here - those that focus on the positive aspects of the HDR and those that focus on the negative. I think it is a great box - I would agree a couple of small tweaks would be nice - but it is still best of the bunch.

Nothing to do with being positive or being negative but they made the box worse and less user friendly with the update with completely backwards thinking.

Wrong, the change did not bring up a channel changes found dialogue on a V1.00.13 box according to Barry who tried for several hours to precipitate one so they would not have a clue why BBC's HD channels just disappeared. You are only annoyed because you insist on deleting tons of channels rather than just ignoring them.

Offering to do a scan on 1st boot was annoying if all you wanted to do was get on and watch some live TV or a recording. So that change is for the better in my opinion.

Interestingly Barry has just posted he still awaits the pop up (as posted a little while ago) seems freesat is not on board to this change. If you look at the thread I admire his fortitutude

That happens once a month or so and you can easily skip it, it takes 2 seconds to do so or a 1 minute wait for a scan.

Now the choice is to not have the channel for 24 hours or do a scan and then spend 15 mins deleting all the crap channels again.

Its a no contest.

No Im annoyed that Humax someone managed make the user experience even worse for no reason at all. As for the above, if it found it during the 3am scan and not on 1st boot, thats another Humax fail and shouldnt be related to the other fails.

There were zero issues with recording while the EPG was downloading, try and explain that one away.

Well you obviously could not set a reservation on epg data not yet downloaded whatever firmware you use.

Getting bored now, you know how to totally avoid the problem so why carry on bleeting about such a trivial issue.

Frankly live with it or get a different box just please get off the soap box.

Yes you could, it would use the old data that was currently stored and it worked all the time.
