and possibly a couple of daft ones as well, but I've only had it for a week, so here goes

I was told a nice trick of popping into Options - Status and pressing BUYR that you can monitor your data usage. I have 500MB allowance a month (on Orange), so whereas I'll not get anywhere near that it'll be good to keep an eye on it.

When I am in the house, I have a wifi connection and the wifi logo is on the BB homepage, however, the data usage amount still increases (very much so when using TuneIn Radio after selecting Wifi mode).

So, first possible daft question, is the data usage amount in the options screen the total amount for the phone itself regardless of what I'm connected to, or is it just for when I'm using the Orange network?

I'm presuming (and indeed hoping that it is the first one), so second question, are there any BB apps out there that would monitor just my network usage?

Oh, that's an interesting option - didn't know that existed.

I've used just over 1 GB in the 8-9 months I had the phone - around 100mb a month.

The network won't count the usage used over wifi, just the data over their mobile network.

I don't know of any apps that monitor just the mobile network data usage, but I wouldn't worry too much, it's compressed end-to-end, so you should use less than you expect.
