Yeah I dont follow that logic either.
They have an genetically enginered baby. With the potential to regenerate and have super strength (No proof of course but you know an assumption.) A whole religious order is after this one child to raise it as a weapon and you have a crazy mad scientist after her as well. There is no proof what so ever that Amy, Rory and Melody (River) is ever going to be safe.

Ahhh Fantastic news!! Series 6 has been amazing television and Christmas day would not have been the same without Doctor Who. Also brilliant we have confirmed at least another series with Matt Smith, and the Moff.

ironically iirc they ran a fairly similar story last year, making very similar claims. It's just about self promotion, imho.

BTW, regarding the post up thread, one of those 14 episodes is the xmas special THIS year, which is most likely why the RT amended their initial tweet.

My opinion on series 7 is that by the end of series 6 Amy and Rory's storys will be wrapped up and we will see them leave.

The series 7 companion will be River Song, however not as we know here. She states to Rory that The Doctor met her when she was just an impressionable young girl. My feeling is that the regeneration young girl is River Song, she will regenerate into her late teens and after the series 6 details are wrapped up I believe The Doc will ask her to come with him, then maybe we'll see a few things happen that have been mentioned before IE River learning how to fly the TARDIS.

Also when moff tweeted about having a plan for series 7 he said River would shoot us with her Spoiler Gun, Maybe he mentioned her because she's currently on his mind

River is always in his mind. Or is that just me

Yay! I hope Matt Smith does at least four years, he is my favorite doctor. And I was a massive DT fan!

I'm very happy about series 7!

I'm led to believe that they're considering splitting the series again next year with half in the Autumn, a short break, then the xmas special, then more in the new year/spring 2013. That will get them around the Olympics problem next year and is the reason why this series was staggered, so there isn't as big a break between series - and is why Private Eye believed it'd be a series of specials again next series rather than the full series.
I'm also told they're keen for Moffat and Smith to continue until the 50th anniversary in 2013 and this could be one way of securing it, if neither are keen on signing for another series beyond next year.

What i meant was because they're new parents and it's a kids show neither of them are going to be killed off anytime soon. Or thats what i think as we know they have to bring Melody up to be River.

Newsround have this article on the commissioning that makes a concerning comment on his tenure. Hope they're just speculating.

After DT I thought MD had a hard act to follow. But then again I liked CE and had to get used to DT.
It was pant wettingly good to see PM briefly after a long wait, as I liked SM (and met him). I was overseas serving Her Maj when CB started (a champage night that), sweating it out on the verandah with my VHS tape.
PD was the right one for that period - a bit of "yoof" injection (met him too). TB was OK (hate mail floods in) but as I was working overseas (and no access to timeshifting in those days lol) missed a lot of his stuff. Still catching up - but he isnt "my" doctor.
JP was fun - and in colour - weekends in Brighton at the Ship Hotel watching colour TV in the communal lounge after the wrestling on ITV....(met him too).
Now "my" doctor was PT - he was the first change from Model 1 and made such a good impression with some great stories. WH was there on the first day I watched as an 8 year old - so you can imagine the shock when he regenned to PT - outrageous and mind boggling.
As for the companions, they come they go, some come back and look older. But we get used to it - and get a sense of renewal when someone new comes into the programme. You can't get too attached over 48 years of my favourite programme.
I love Dr Who. I think I also love the Moff......

After next year, Matt will have done three series. That's about the accepted average for a Doctor Who-though I can't really see him leaving a year before before the 50th anniversary.

Do not get me started on the Private Eye I consider them the most awful newspaper (magazine?) in the country, just because so many people who read it (myself at one time) think that this is the real news, that they are exposing the truth somehow. Remember the MMR vaccine special? The Private Eye exist to sell themselves as much as any other newspaper does, and I'd wager it relies more on gossip than any tabloid.

From that article:

Quote:
“It's not clear when they'll end and they could finish in 2013 and could end with Matt Smith regenerating into a new Doctor.”

.... and they could end up morphing into Pudsey bear.

It seems like a speculative comment in the manner of "black or white"

I really want Matt to make it to the 50th Anniversary in 2013! I really love him so much and will of course want him to be on the show for as long as possible, but he is a versatile actor and want him to explore different styles of acting too! But would love him to do 5 years or so altogether, have him meet new characters over the years etc.

Hey, it's an icon of British culture, been going since the 1960's with the involvement of some very popular and well loved figures, sure it's changed over time, been threatened with closure a few times and often on shaky ground with its finances, but the people involved clearly care and for every disappointing or badly handled article, if you wait a few weeks something will come along to renew your faith in it. (That's enough comparison of Doctor Who with Private Eye - Ed)

Autumn next year and spring the year after?

If we take the Private Eye news (which is about 4 specials instead of a series in 2012) with the announcement about Series 7 perhaps we'll get 4 specials in the autumn, 2 or 3 episodes over Christmas then the remaining episodes in 2013 leading up to the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Private Eye published a story a few years back that criticised a group of people, among who was one of my closest friends. They were wrong in almost every detail. A few months ago, these people won a claim of unfair dismissal. Private Eye runs a story talking about the shocking treatment of these people, taking their side whilst ignoring their previous article.

I like Colemanballs, and some of the cartoons and a few features. But the bulk of the paper is based on 'isn't this interesting' and 'could it be' stories, none of which I have seen actually come to anything in mainstream news.

Well I didn't say that most of it's output was glib and ultimately meaningless as I thought the comparisons with DW had gone on long enough. (And I don't mean to disrespect any bad experiences you or your friend may have had with the magazine)
