Natalie Imbruglia appreciation

Been listening to her second album "White Lillies Island" today having not listened to it in a few years.

Still my fave Natalie album, so many beautiful tracks and I still think "Beauty Under the Fire" is the most underrated single of all time (or one of them anyway ) it has such a gorgeous video too.

Hurricane is soooo lovely

I didn't think much of her latest album "Come to Life"

Whats your fave Natalie music?

Shiver and Torn are bonafide pop classics. Don't care what anyone says.

I love White Lilies' Island as well. My favourite songs on there are Sunlight and Do You Love.
I also really like her first album. Left of the Middle as well. I like her earlier more uptempo rock driven things. I'm not as big on her more recent down tempo ballad and acoustic stuff.

Ditto

She peaked with the first 2 albums (I will always love them) & her debut really does have an Alanis Morissette Jagged Little Pill feel to it.

The third album was pretty much filler other than the 2 singles which were both great.

Her 4th album was a disaster both musically & commercially.

The bonus tracks on her greatest hits stink also

Natalie Imbruglia is not only beautiful but also talented, she has released some great pop records over the years, it's just a shame she never got her dues within the industry and hit the big time in a big way.
I'm thinkin' she either to needs to release a new album and return to music OR go over to America and re-launch herself as an actress. Either way we need to see her back!

On a side not my favourite songs are:
Torn, Wrong Impression, Shiver

Funny because I think Come To Life is amazing and easily her best album.

I absolutely love Come to Life too. I think Want could possibly be my favourite single from her.

Her greatest hits collection is one of my favourite greatest hits ever. There really is so much range in there from Torn to Big Mistake to Smoke. And she co-wrote/wrote almost everything too. A truly talented woman.

I just find Come to Life a mess and the sound doesn't suit her at all.

Just my opinion

Not a massive fan really but I like Torn and Wrong Impression.

I agree a strategy like this could help Natalie relaunch herself. These and Smoke are my fave singles of hers, but an excellent track on Left of the Middle is Leave Me Alone.

Preaching to the converted here, I am a massive Natalie fan and Come To Life is one of my favourite albums ever! I totally agree that Come To Life needs to be re-packaged with more songs, Twenty needs to have a summer release followed by Want Fraser T Smith version and Fun to be showcased on the X Factor for a Xmas release - this album has the potential to be huge for Natalie and deservedly too

As it was Natalie's 40th birthday on Wednesday, I listened to plenty of her music. I also listened to a few songs from Autumn 1997 (when she launched her music career), Summer 1993 (when she was settling into Neighbours in the UK and I could tell she would be one of my favourite entertainers) and also early 1975 (when she was born!).

I noticed shades of the instrumentation from Torn in Wrong Impression and Shiver.

It felt intriguing to realise that in the time I have liked Natalie, her age has just over doubled. Mind you, I know she is never too young or too old. I know this because an anagram of her name is ... I Am Brilliant Age U!

She was supposed to be doing a covers album of songs originally by men, which was what Tori Amos did awhile back. I wonder what happened to that? Is it coming soon?

My favourite albums by her are her first two Left of the Middle and White Lilies Island. I miss when she did more uptemp rock stuff. Her recent stuff is too MOR for me. I hope the covers album won't be all slow and acoustic. She has a lovely voice but I need more spirit and fire from her.

I had a read-up on Natalie on Wednesday and heard a couple of interviews. She had a covers album due in March like you said, but that was as much as I found out. So, I don't know how near fruition this necessarily is.
