Series 7 idea?
How about a series with just The Doctor, on his own? Each episode or storyline (if say, a two parter) has it's own "companion" - much like 2009s specials but spread over the series. Maybe using the last few episodes to introduce a new companion - if needed - for 2013s series.

That would be a refreshing change, I like this idea, a break from a long term companion for a while might be good, would also mean the writers would have to flesh out other characters a bit more too

I like having a long term companion, myself. I get more emotionally involved with them as I get to know them better.
Having said that, I think the minor characters have been brilliantly portrayed in this series - Vastra, Straxx, Canton, all come across as "real" in only a few lines of dialogue. Trouble is, I want to see more of them.

Perhaps with River being a recurring companion for a few episodes. I'd like the idea.
When we get a new companion, I'd love for he or she to be an alien. Maybe Vastra could come back? I thought she was brilliant.

I'm old-fashioned - I like the idea of two companions to stay for the duration of the series. As long as they don't get involved in all the previous timey-malarkey stuff!!

I'd be happy with the Doctor and Canton Delaware - the nutter and the laconic tough-guy. Make a nice change to get away from the lovey-dovey stuff for a while.
I'd also like the whole series to be set away from Earth and all the villains and support characters should be completely new. And absolutely nothing heavy about the main characters - just spiffing adventures. |

I love the whole "Team TARDIS Family" aspect of Series 5/6 seriously i havent been THIS emotionally connected to Who! But I love when a new companion is introduced to really bring a breath of new air to the show, shake it up again too! I love the idea of another pairing but different to Amy/Rory. I would love River AND Captain Jack in an episode at the very least too ![]() ![]() ![]() And also i feel with Moff there has been an earthly connection BUT it hasnt been a family connection to Earth if that makes sense, it allows for there to be insane adventures and the companion doesnt have to be home in time for dinner with mum, brother and sister and Wilf (it worked for RTD though but Moff brings something different)Cannot wait to see what tricks are brought out from Moffats sleeves! |
