River to me.
Yes I know another River thread but bare with me.
So I have been thinking about why I am bloody obsessed with River Song and heres why I think it is. When River walked into the Library and uttered her first words. "Hello Sweetie." I felt that this woman was very special. I was immediately fascinated with her. she was very attractive and seemed smart. I loved how she took command of the situation very quickly. Then when she called him "Pretty Boy." That just made me laugh even more and then we find out that she has known the Doctor and travelled with him. When she realises that the Doctor didnt know who she was it was pretty heartbreaking you could see it on her face. It obviously hurts her and yet she doesnt let it deter from the job at hand. Like it might with many other people. Then the Library adventure plays out and we see that she is smart. She knows the Doctors name (This is an indication that she is very special.) She has sonic screwdriver and doesnt mind putting the Doctor in his place. (I suspose you could argue that Donna did this as well.) Then she sacrificed herself for the Doctor and that scene is even more heartbreaking. Its clear that her death has hurt the Doctor and he doesnt fully understand just who she is but he has an inkling. Then we fast forward until the Angels adventure. River has that amazing scene coming out of the spaceship right into the Doctors arms. She can write in high galifreyan and clearly understands it. We discover she can fly the TARDIS better than him. Then the adventure resumes and we have the mysterious River under the care of Father Octavian we dont know why. Then he reveals that she murdered someone- Who? "The best man I have ever known." but she shows remorse and guilt. So that intruiges me even more. Then we fast forward to the Pandorica adventures. She breaks out of the Stormcage and goes Indiana Jones's type style to hunt down a painting. She goes back in time and writes "Hello Sweetie." On the oldest clifface in the universe. (Which actually its quite brilliant.) Then it spins around till a fantastic adventure with River almost blowing up inside the TARDIS with the words "I am sorry my love." she isnt caring about herself here. She is caring about the Doctor even in the face of death. Then there is the scene with her shooting the fez. Then the Dalek begging for mercy which still gives me chills to this day. Then at the end of TBB we have River seemingly to remember the Doctor in some bizarre way with the diary. Then we have the whole are you married question and then the reveal that he will find out who she is. Then we have impossible astronaut and the whole smack just made me laugh out loud and the gun toting scene. which is exhilarating. Then finally we come to AGMGTW where we find that River is Timelordish and all of her feats and traits finally make sense. She puts The Doctor in his place where I believe no one would have dared. So after all this its made clear that River is his equal and that is why I am so obsessed with River Song. |

She also gives an insight into the future of the doctor, in that, he still has all these things to go through. He too will have a last kiss and a first meeting when she won't recognise him. We saw how much it killed River. The doctor still has all of this to come
