The Buzzer bit confused me, considering we saw Jen melt herself when there were two ganger Jens. If they were both running around at the same time, they both had sentience, so why did she melt when Buzzer actually died? I know she melted for the sake of the story so Rory and us thought the ganger died, and perhaps when they die they die but if they burn/dissolve they actually melt, but then Ganger Doctor would melt, wouldn't he? They may have been stabilised by the TARDIS, but they were still capable of going gooey, like Amy-ganger did.

I'd say you're right that this is how the Dr knew that Amy in the Tardis wasn't the real Amy. After being fooled twice, I'd imagine he'll be adding this to the standard checks he does when scanning ”

He didn't bother scanning Melody though.

Jen melted because she fell into acid. A human would have done the same.

Except Amy has kept her maiden name in the series. Rory soon gave up trying to insist on it.

I posted elsewhere but may be relevent to this thread as it might be relevant to the Fleshie theory.

If the next episode involves this Doctor being in wartime Germany and if it includes the escape tunnel and digging his way into the Commandant's office that we saw in the opening scene of TIA - we'll know who was at the picnic.

Just pointing out how it wasn't a lie...

Also, she hasn't kept Pond as her surname. When the Doctor called Rory 'Rory Pond' after his wedding, he told the Doctor it foesn't work like that - so the name has been taken by Amy, but she just refuses to use it in public. One of the women I work with does exactly the same - officially she's Spence, but everyone knows her as Axisa.

He got quite upset about the way Amy reacted to what she thought was his ganger and his real ganger proved to be more than his equal when it came to self sacrifice.

The changing of shoes to confuse her had no apparent reason to it (that I can think of) other than to test her.”

Personally I don't think a ganger could even become a full Time Lord, simply because I find it hard to believe a human technology could perfectly mimic one. "A Time Lord's body is a miracle." Exposure to the Time Vortex to create physics effects is probably required (via the Rassilon Imprimatur) as might be Gallifreyan nanotech.

Remember the Doctor refers to Jenny as an "echo" rather than a Time Lord, inferring there's a bit more too it than simple genetic replication. I've always throught it's likely Jenny can't perfectly regenerate (hence he appearance not changing) - she may merely have some form of regenerative energy act as a healing factor to a lesser extent.

Not sure we'll ever really see this fully explained on-screen mind.

River Song KNOWS about Gangers - obviously considering the episode we've all just seen. Didn't she mention about two Doctors 'that's a whole different birthday'? Perhaps she's already making those plans in readiness for a 'different birthday' .”

Not necessarily, she may just know that she was somehow kidnapped as a baby at Demon's Run and that's it. The Doctor might avoid telling her all the details in case she managed to change it somehow, whether accidentally or on purpose.
