Who else will admit they don't know about Jim?
Jepson

Having watched all the episodes and read dozens, if not hundreds, or different opinions - a lot of which were very definite, at one or other extreme, I have to admit that I just do not know about Jim. Obviously there are others who have a very low key edits whose characters are unclear but for such a high visibility candidate, this degree of uncertainty is unusual.

Anyone else care to admit that they cannot be confident of forming a definite opinion one way the another?

I wonder if we will finally get to see what we need, tonight.

I think a lot of the things that people have a strong view on wrt Jim are clouded by the fact that we have very little personal perspective from him on them. He doesn't have many to-camera interviews, and they're usually quite generic. He's a bit of a closed book being held further closed by the editing.

I hope, given the laser turned on him in the Boardroom last week, that we here somethnig from him early this week about what he thinks about that.

At the moment I think he's all about looking good for the cameras, or anyone watching. Therefore he won't reveal anything he's really thinking, and probably will never admit to any type of weakness or doubt even in his confessionals.

I'm kind of close to not liking him, but I think we've got alot more to come.

That's why I kinda of want to see him get to the interview stage where it's just him sitting across from Sugar's interviewers and he giving responses to the questions arising from the thorough disection of his CV.

He is hard to read (and probably the way he intends it to be). I see two sides to Jim. The cool calm Irish charmer who his fellow candidates don't really ever go against the opinion of in tasks and where he is the person that they seek the approval of the most and, or, look to if are stranded. In the boardroom its the opposite, the charm and togetherness seems to fade as he and his team's flaws are exposed when a task has been lost. For some reaon Leon and Jim have wobbled against him and I'm wondering if it is either a reflection of how weak they were or if Jim really is that intimidating to even those two men who have lacked no display of confidence themselves during this process (apart from when directly against him). The only person who has mentioned the arse licking of Jim is Natasha, but I do wonder if she would have felt the freedom to say this if he had been in the room also.

Confusing post - Did you mean 'are we impressed or not by Jim's business skills?' he is quite the character, I wouldnt employ the guy personally - he comes across as a passive aggressive control freak, but obviously he has some relevant business skills.

So far very few of the contestants have showed much improvement or indeed looking like a winner. They are very entertaining and watching them stumble over relatively simple tasks is easy to watch.

Not specially.

I meant what I said.

Is anyone else prepared to admit that they cannot come up with a firm opinion of Jim over the gamut of possible attributes.

I just don't feel we've seen enough yet but quite a few people seem to have very definite opinions.

Fair enough - he is the standout character, not sure if people trust the guy - seems to be a controlling person, could you rely on someone like that who hears your opinion then convinces you for whatever reason to change your mind. I can see him losing tonight and being team leader, the show will be worse off without him, but Lord Sugar won't be.

Not sure quite what you mean by "like". As we have never met any of them in a real life situation when they are not desperately trying to be the winner in a competition and we will only ever know them through carefully edited bits of film it's impossible to say what they would be like in real life. The use 110 hours of film to get one hour of the programme.

I think that he one of the best contestants this year. He's in it to win it.

I still feel there will be significant scene between Jim and Natasha at some point, possibly in the boardroom and that will be the making or breaking of either
