Anyone remember Shaheen Jafargholi?

Someone who has actually got somewhere in two years. He did sign a record deal with Universal last year and was supposed to release an album in March but nothing happened.

His website, shaheenofficial.com hasn't been updated since November, although he is on Facebook regularly.

It'd help if he'd promote himself a lot more, don't you think so?

I remember Shaheen; nice voice and lovely personality. But he's at that age when voices break, and can often mean young lads putting their singing career on hold for a year or two.

His version of Who's Loving You was amazing.

He was going to be one of Michael Jackson's support acts on This Is It (apparently MJ chose Shaheen himself), but after he past away he performed at the tribute concert thing

I saw him live last October at the CIA in Cardiff. He was appearing in the Big Welsh Talent Show and I have to say he was really, really impressive. Excellent vocals and stage craft from such a young lad. Really enjoyed him - very talented

Yes, it was truly stunning. I generally don't like child singers, but he really blew me away.

I found him annoying and overrated and like they were trying to make him too grown up with the way they dressed him.

Shaheen has been working hard over the past two years, performing live and on Television around the world - he has recorded an album with island records which is due out in the Autumn (around October) - The record company made a wise decision waiting for him to be a bit older before launching him onto the world - I've seen him perform on a number of occasions since Britain's got talent, and he has matured into an amazing, and even more, confident performer - He will be a major young star, who has already conquored The U.S.A.. Japan, and some Middle Eastern countries even before the launch of his debut album.

Thank you for the information. I liked him very much! I hope he is able to enjoy his childhood, though.

No he hasnt, what are you, his mum? he hasnt sold any records yet, so hasnt conquered anywhere. In fact his debut single, which is on you tube, was shelved, because his voice broke.

Shows how unbelievably strong the talent was in Series 3 that he didn't even finish in the top three. He's better than Ronan imo, he's got an incredible voice. For some reason the public didn't take to him during the final. Probably because it was all about SuBo that year. And Diversity of course, who were far more deserving winners

And people didn't think he should have been on BGT anyway because of all his previous stage credits/thriller live stuff. (whilst conveniently forgetting that Susan Boyle had been on other talent shows before)

It's not particularly surprising his voice has broken now though - even thinking in terms of age he's going to be 14 now isn't he? Size-wise he looked quite a lot more physically large than Ronan (certainly more stocky though height's hard to tell on something like that) which probably also helped his voice (Shaheen's voice was a lot more powerful than Ronan's is, but then Ronan's a slight kid so he has to force more to sing louder especially low down) but usually also means it won't last older (think larger = lower in terms of other instruments).

It's perhaps also not surprising that if it has broken then they might be reluctant to put his album on sale, it would have nothing to back it up in any live appearances (unless he didn't sing and just mimed to a recording) and it would look a bit more silly in publicity that you have this lad with a broken voice signing copies of/on the TV talking about/otherwise publicising songs of him as a treble because it wouldn't sound like the same person singing.

Precisely why Cowell has acts over his lap with these one-year exclusivity deals (basically syco hold the rights to them for a year afterwards even if they don't take them on) and why it's an especially dangerous thing for young male singers not to sign up (or to make anything if Cowell chooses not to do anything with them). A 12 year old boy singing on BGT will be 13 by the time the exclusivity runs out, then have to sign a contract with someone else, book in time to record, rehearse the music, record, book in the release date and associated publicity and stay around ideally before his voice has broken. By which time he'll probably have turned 14 and the chances of that being the case will be severely diminished. Whereas an adult could afford to wait the extra year (and then probably only have the downside of more time passing and time to be forgotten), and a girl singer would no doubt spend the year getting even better (e.g. Faryl Smith) a young boy can't wait long.

He's gonna be touring with Bruno Mars, so must be realising something soon

Didn't like him on BGT and he ruins Grandpa In My Pocket every time he is in it too.

I was wondering why they aren't releasing anything, his voice broke a lot earlier that that.

He was just over 13 when it happened, and he signed a record deal in May last year.

And it's not confirmed that he is touring with Bruno Mars, he hasn't mentioned it on Facebook, and even though it is on Wikipedia, there's no source so I'm surprised no one removed it yet.

He is 14 and a half roughly now, his birthday is January 23rd, 1997 for those wondering, and many voices do break at the age of 12/13. On BGT, his voice was a lot deeper in the semi's than it was in the auditions, even over a course of 3 months.

And first they say they'll release it on November 22nd, 2010, then they move it to March 21st and now what?

A great singer but the record company isn't giving him the promotion and publicity he needs.

As BGT is now back on the tv, I found this thread via a Google search.

This guy is a perfect example of the pitfalls of going on BGT and getting a record deal. His album, made in 2011, was never released. He wowed the judges and got huge tv exposure but nothing came of it. You need major luck to have a successful career!

Was going to reply to two posts above then noticed they were from 2011.

Where do the years go?
