I just cant decide, I've been with Apple for a while (Have a 3GS) and its time for a new phone, I do like Apple but the iPhone 4 is to expensive really for what it is, I'd be buying them sim free and the cheapest I can it the iPhone 4 for is £415, its day light robbery to be honest.

Then there is the Desire S, I picked it over the Incredible S and Galaxy S as its the cheapest of the 3 at around £300 and there isn't really alot of difference among them. The only thing putting me of is I use the iPod on my iPhone alot and I believe the android music player is quite poor as is battery life.

Both have there good and bad points, I can't decide, help

Well if you've bought music from Apple, it should be DRM free, so you can easily use the files on an Android device.

By the sounds of it, cost is a major factor for you - this should steer you toward an Android phone as they are generally cheaper, and have more free apps to download.

Your concerns are warranted too, the standard android music player is not fantastic, but there are many others you can try from the Android Market (dbPoweramp being one of the better ones), and battery power may drain slightly faster (I'm not sure really) but as long as you have a spare micro USB cable at work (£2 off ebay) you will be fine.

The Desire S is a great phone, my wife recently got one and is more than happy with it.

I've gone from an iPhone 3GS to a HTC Desire S and haven't looked back very happy with the Desire S.

If cost matters that much to you then this is 2/3 the cost of a Desire S:

£215. 16GB internal storage, DLNA capabilities, best music playing software out there.

Main downsides are: smaller appstore than Android (but currently at 20,000+ apps), some features like multitasking not coming until september update.

If you switch an android device, then doubletwist will help syncing itunes playlists, videos and podcasts.
