The Doctor's Death *possible spoilers*

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I was just thinking when the doctor dies in TIA there has to be a way that they change it or something.
Because if not that would mean that although there is 200 years between there would not be another regeneration (as dies in matt smith form). This means that dr who would finish when matt smith decideds to leave (unless they make him regenerate back to this form later which is unlikely). Surely BBC wouldn't want to end the series or atleast stop it coming back later on.
I have no idea how or why but I would think that would pretty much suggest that he doesnt actually die, cos I can't think of any other way round it??

It will probably be something to do with a changed timeline, so it doesn't actually happen. It might also explain why the Doctor is trying to get noticed in different places in time at the start of TIA, and why their now trying to kill Hitler possibly.

Not that I have much evidence for this theory, but here's how I hope it goes:

1) Young River/ Melody is conditioned to kill the Doctor from birth by Kovarian et al.
2) They also put in a fail safe that means she'll die if she fails.
3) They rescue her and she's raised by Rory and Amy instead, then when she meets the Doctor and instead of killing him she falls in love.
4) Because she failed, she'd have to die, but to save her, she has to kill the Doctor on the beach, and by interrupting his regeneration, it saves her (partly Time Lord) life.
5) This means that the Doctor would die at his 'first' meeting with River, just as she died for him at his first meeting with her.
6) The big suprise I'd like at the end of the series (not a surprise if guessed, I know)? That the Doctor ISN'T saved at the end, and we begin the next series with the companions having to work alone.

Though of course this is unlikely because they'd have a Doctor-less Christmas special.

Can I just point out, that this post has absolutely no spoilers in it at all, and states something that has been obvious to everyone since the episode he "died" in?

Except future River who was on the beach and saw the Doctor get shot and tried to shoot and kill the astranaut as they went back into the water - it was quite clear she had no idea the Doctor was about to be killed - also backed up by her reaction in the diner afterwards when they meet the earlier Doctor.

If it was River in the spacesuit, if would have to be River AFTER this had happened for her....

Fine.

'And young River had her memory wiped so she didn't remember it'

I also had another version of this theory where it's someone else in the suit, but it's the same principle of the Doctor has to die so they don't kill River for failing to kill him.

It also fits that the 1103 Doctor appears to have 'completed' his meetings with River when he goes to die. It doesn't matter that SITL River remembers multiple Doctors, because that's in her future and time can be rewritten....

I'm not swearing by this theory, I just think it's a nice way to end it.
