"No old enemies will be returning"
Hawksworth

Apparantly this has been stated by the Moff in regard to season 6.

Now obviously Silurians, cybermen and a Sontaron have been present but not in an 'enemy type of way'.

Could we all be chasing our tails with the Omega theories? What if that isn't the roman numeral of two also on the symbol but the number 11 instead...

I almost hope it isn't Omega now as that means lots more suprises in store.

And a Judoon! Moffat lies, don't believe a word! The way things are going I'm expecting the finale to feature Daleks, Omega, Morbius, The Valeyard, The Master and the cavemen from An Unearthly Child...

it wasn't actually Moffat that said that it was Piers Wenger....

I thought it meant 'none we haven't already brought back in the new run'.

So no Mechaniods

The use of old villains was necessary to ensure that when the series was brought back there was still something familiar for the audience.

But now the series is established i think its wholly right theyre making new enemies that are designed to compliment the themes of the series arc.

As opposed to a generic plot where the daleks just want to destroy or rule something

Ah ok, but that would still mean no Omega

Quite agree, I'm loving the revived series lately. I only watched before out of some odd sense of duty as I was such a Who nut as a kid.

The old is being used to encircle the new...a nice idea that keeps the universe rich.
