I don't use the word "lie" unless I am very sure. In this case, Zoe may have merely forgotten the exact sequence. The boardroom was two days after the incident. She was probably thinking about the negotiation when Susan was pestering her.

I don't agree about lying. Laughing is surely something most of us do. She doesn't belittle Susan constantly, just when Susan deserves it. I'll grant you her voice, but that's not a reason to hate her any more than her physical appearance is.
