Yet she has worked for two of the biggest porn barons that Britain has produced. Gonna be interesting to see if she is going into full tilt hypocrite mode or be a bit more circumspect.

Karen's opinion isn't going to matter, for two reasons:

1) Her opinion never matters.

2) Lad's mag is going to thrash the old person's mag - sex sells, the elderly do not.

I think its fairly obvious next weeks outcome

My reaction to the preview, shown at the end of tonight`s show, was definitely not favourable.

I do wonder how Karren will react as a previous poster said given her connection to purveyors of porn.

I do miss Margaret, I`d have loved to see her reaction to it. Will Nick be drooling though?!

I actually found the preview quite funny (the immature side of me is clearly showing here ).

I will be intrigued to see how much Natasha gets into doing this Lad mag idea (presume its hers) and if in this task she's on it (like was with the doggy advert) or will be painlfully off the mark in which to seriously p*** off Lord Sug. In the preview VT most of the other contestants didn't seem pleased with their product.

By the looks of the preview Natasha, Leon, Tom and Melody are on the same team, with Jim, Zoe, Susan and Glen on the other.

Might be the best episode yet as its a lads mag v a saga oap type mag.

How polar opposites can you get.

This will either make or break Natasha I think

The model involved in the lads mag shoot this week Emma Frain has said in an interview that Karen Brady just drew her dirty looks during the filming.

Interesting

That Chinese girl saying 'blow your load' on last week's preview almost makes me want to avoid tomorrow's episode altogether.

+1 on that.

I wonder what the odds are on Shuggs making an insinuating comment to Nick in the board room.

Well, in theory this is a no-brainer.

To try to make money from lads mags, as such, is suicide.

The sales of UK lads mags have plummeted over the past decade. Two big names FHM and ZOO are now owned by a German company, Bauer. Ten years ago Maxim had a circulation of 300,000. In 2009, it had fallen to 40,000, and it ceased publication.

The market for girlie material has moved to the web. No-one wants to buy lads magazines.

Stories about collapsing lads mag circulations:

http://www.aca-demy.co.uk/articles.p...axim-maxed-out

In contrast, sales of Saga have been rocketing:

Any serious investor would certainly go for the OAP mag.

Isn't it potential advertisers who will decide. I'd imagine the grey market is more numerous and wealthy so if the oldie paper is better than the condescending idiocy that the probably misleading clips suggest, then it ought to win.

The 'lads' mag has been done to death, thought they would have picked something different.

I'd go with seniors mag as the better money maker

Lads mag would need to be visual, with a bit more as so many images are found for free online. The consumer 'grab' stakes would be much higher. Nevermind the overhead of paying for models and fashion shoots!

With an oap mag, finding people to write articles of interest would be cheaper and stock photos could be used, so lower overhead. The pricing would be the hardest to decide!

If I was on the show I'd go for broke and have an old people's porno magazine. Like having the Shreddies Nana's rubbing cake in a trussed up Fred Dinage's face, and whipping each other with bicycle chains.

And a free DVD of Midsommer Murders on the cover as a deal breaker.

when i ran a newsagents the lads mags were at the back shelf just below the adult ones while the stuff that appealed to the more mature audience was at the front along with the gossip mags/tv guides and to be honest the lads mags never really sold

Did you mean "full-tits mode" ?
Hear hear, down with half-tits mode.

I think the mags are to be free of charge, like Metro and Evening Standard, and the objective is to be attractive to advertisers. But yeah the input costs would be key to determining the feasibility of the mags and winning the task.

I think another thing that has to be taken into account regarding the lads mag is how many men would actually want to be seen reading it on the tube, in cafes ect. Some men may want to take it home to "read", but I doubt many men would want to be seen picking up these kind of mags and reading it on their commute, as they do with Metro and Evening Standard. I certainly wouldn't.

Why not? Often you'll see me wandering down the high street, my copy of Razzle tucked under my arm as I hail a cab!

It's been done - I saw a mag called something like '50+' on the top shelf of a Norwegian newsagent. Front cover was of a 'mature' lady lifting up her top and showing off her bra.
