![]() Bib - Miss! Miss! (waving hand in air) I can think of a new direction for Orangina - she can become a scarecrow - she wouldn't even have to change her clothing or hairstyle! I'm afraid I'm not a member of Team Nicola! I've been waiting years for her to get her comeuppance, but it never happens! ![]() I know I'm probably the only one, but I want La Belle Kell back - she could light up the (newly-dismal) caff like a supernova, totter around in her heels and insult people with a sweet smile on her face. Her presence would bring back an echo of the divine Viv whom I (stupidly) used to get angry with and rant about (sometimes) when she was still amongst us, but how I miss her now - terribly! You're quite right about 'Brenda' - but I'm sure I remember that she was showing signs of uncharacteristic 'ditziness' before Terry died, so we can't blame the meds! Anyone remember this to put my mind at rest? I like 'Debbie' too, Soapy, I'm a bit of a mardy madam myself so I'm not too bothered by her moods, and besides, she has a lot to put up with from Cain and Charity. I don't know why she and 'Cameron' aren't better together - she's proved her acting skills in the past and he was excellent in 'The Bill' so what's gone wrong? bhvictory - excellent idea! Why not start your jokes thread and see how it goes? Off topic: As for that horse - I was standing about five yards away from it and had just bent down to pick up one of the stable cats when it let rip. It sounded like the last trump and smelled indescribable - and the cat got such a shock it practically went into orbit! ![]() The hubba, who'd insisted on coming along to help me resuscitate the sister if the worst happened and the poor creature actually had had colic and had to be destroyed, struck a post and quipped, as the echoes of the fart died away, "Speak on, sweet lips that never told a lie!" I fell about laughing, as did the vet - the sister gave him a look which could have corroded concrete - mind you, she'd just had to shell out £150 for the emergency call-out fee!

ROALMFAO ![]() Wouldn't it be great if that happened to Paddy on a call-out? To accentuate the fart's impact the Emmerdale special effects team could make his cap blow off too

It's not that I don't think Debbie and Cameron will last, I just don't think they're very convincing at the moment. Maybe it's because they had their relationship in Jersey (so we didn't see that, obviously) then things were strained by the time we got to see anything between them. So we haven't seen much in the way of romance, or passion, tenderness - or even affection! - between them. Personally, I think a few scenes of them actually getting on, sharing a joke, a bit of banter, actually enjoying one another's company would do wonders for the authenticity of the relationship for the viewer. All we seem to see is angst and arguing, without ever seeing (or ever having SEEN) much reason for them actually wanting to be together. She does have a lot to put up from with Charity and Cain but at the moment they seem to only show her in a stroppy mood without anything to balance against it; if they're not careful, she'll be as unsympathetic a character as Nicola! Talking of the Princess, I also think it's a bit of a shame they've had her revert to being a totally unreasonable (and again, unsympathetic) character after we saw a more vulnerable side to her in the recent storyline of Jimmy's memory loss. I felt sorry for her while all that was going on and wanted them to get back together, but now I'm finding her completely dislikeable again, and the scenes of Jimmy whining "Just let me have Angelica for half an hour, PLEEEEEEEEASE Nico" followed by her screeching "You slept with that TART" (Ma Boswell eat your heart out) on repeat play somewhat dull. |

And when she (hazel) was having breakfast with Jackson, she referred to him as somebody/something else, for a laugh, and Brenda said "No, He's Jackson" or something along those lines....

Nice post Lotteh. Had to open a bag of popcorn to read it
. Anyhoo, the thing about the pigeon was very minor and I don't know why I thought it was sad . It was when Rhona came into Smithy after Paddy blew her off and Marlon sensed she was upset and she was telling him not to encourage her (to cry) as she had been getting emotional very easily lately, giving an example of a pigeon she saw that had its leg "all twisted", at which point she welled up and couldn't finish her story. I hope the pigeon was okay ![]() Even though she's vile, I'm actually Team Nicola - that said, her battle for sole custody is still unbelievable - but there will always be 'soap bitches' and she's one of them. Maybe I tolerate her because she was one of the first 'feisty young females' the show had before this sudden influx. Anyway, I was watching the episodes where Tom King is murdered online and Jimmy was seemed really rough and arrogant back. Obviously Nicola took possession of his balls (I wonder if she'll get to keep sole custody of them too ![]() ) and strapped them to herself, as well as the balls of any other former lovers she had. I think Nicola and Jimmy would work well if Jimmy was a bit more fierce again. Nicola can still be interesting without him but I can't say the same for him, without her (IMO). I can't see them staying apart though. I predict they'll be back together either just before the divorce goes through, or shortly afterwards, and then they can have another wedding which, guess what, doesn't go according to plan ![]() .

Your comment on Aaron and Hazel made me laugh. My God it's really grating on me! It's been great to have a bit of a break from that storyline. We really need some comedy now to balance out all the misery. Come on writers, take a few tips from Corrie. Quote:

How much slower can Emmerdale get? The storylines are inching forward at a snail's pace
None of them are interesting and all are repetitive It's like Groundhog Day in the Dales. It feels as if the shark's well and truly been jumped now. I couldn't wait for the end tonight, sick of the miserable gobs of Paddy, Rhona, Orangina and all the others beset by problems mainly of their own making. Thank god it's off for two days, I've had enough for the time being. |

If these negative types aren't present on the thread I don't really get why we've had posts about them here
Personally I much prefer discussing Emmerdale to judging other FMs.But as the issue of 'finding fault' keeps cropping up, here's my take on it. I think it's a big mistake to portray criticism as 'complaining' or 'negativity'. Negativity suggests that the viewer starts out with a downer on the subject to begin with. In 99.9% of criticism I don't believe that's the case. I think it's simply a matter of taste and if someone perceives a deterioration in quality it's not making a complaint or moaning to say so - it's just being honest. It's those who blindly worship things, disregarding obvious flaws who are the truly negative ones. They often put down others who they disagree with in a very intolerant way. Their tunnel-vision outlook means they can never grasp what a forum's actual purpose is - to be a place where strong criticism should be tolerated just as much as high praise, without being called 'negativity'. |

![]() Imagine the panic which descended over the producer Blackburn as he realised that once the viewing audience had dashed the tears from their eyes over St. Tumnus breathing his last and witnessing Aaron's record-breaking sprint to the field beyond the cricket pavilion - there was nobody lined up to carry the essential Emmerdale angst! ![]() ![]() Luckily he remembered the Three Stooges and baby, and, in the twinkling of an eye, transformed two of them into The Straight Glums and (presumably) instructed Marlon to give his arms and eyebrows a good 'happy' workout and simultaneously be as irritating as possible - an assignment he fulfilled to perfection. Meanwhile, in Brenda's living-room - sorry - I mean 'the caff', Aaron looked positively jovial for the first time since last October - poor lad - little does he realise he'll be needing the tear-stick again very soon - while Sandy, no doubt comforting himself by thinking of the regular money coming in and trying to forget his distinguished past roles, got the plum part of elderly buffoon who can't manage to grasp a 'designer mug'! Finally, and to my joy, everybody had a go at Orangina - no doubt her next port of call will be on Hazel to ask if she has any of 'the mixture' left over - I mean, it's all of a week since we had a suicidal 'yoof'! Well, I wonder what delights next week has in store for us, amici? Hope y'all have a lovely weekend! ![]() PS: Message to Chocolate Monke - 'Lyclear' and a good, strong 'nit' comb are your friends - although I'm sure as a teacher, you know more about the remedies and protection than I do! I'm starting to feel itchy for you!

Buon giorno, Madama!
Have you been away to Lourdes yet, or were you just kidding? Back to happenings in t'village - I like to keep abreast of what's happening on other threads, although I don't often comment on them - and I see young Aaron has been criticised for daring to smile so soon after the demise of St Tumnus! ![]() Personally, I think he's shown great restraint - if I was him, I'd have been so relieved to be rid of the miserable so-and-so for good, I'd have worn a scarlet shirt and danced a samba through the village waving maracas. Oh dear - there I go again - evil Aida forgetting that Davros was 'the love of his life' on the strength of being the first bloke who ever kissed him - four or five times!

) Anyway. I'm not sure I understand. Are we not supposed to give negative views on this thread? I kind of thought it was just a discussion, where everyone could say what they thought, just talking about stuff? I don't really understand the point about whether the producers would change things as a result of what is said here (because that's obvious, surely?) Are people not just giving their opinions on what they're watching?

It's like Groundhog Day in the Dales.
