Yes. I think he's exactly the type of person LAS wants. Intelligent, some good ideas, know what he's talking about, no dramatics, respectful and mature.
I don't see why not. Tom has shown that he can spot pitfalls that others can't. And he's an inventor so he's bound to be full of ideas. His only weakness is that he's not assertive enough but that wouldn't be such a big problem in a business of his own where he's the boss.
He's definitely the sort of person you'd want as a sales manager but I don't think he's really done a lot to show real business acumen. He's just a good people-person.
I guess it'd depend what sort of business he plans on starting with AS.

Whoops. Getting confused between Jim and Tom.
Jim's the one I was talking about above.
Tom is the sort of guy who AS might want to go into business with but I suspect he's a little concerned that he's more of a back-room boffin type than a real "player".

He needs to be a PM to show his business side, i don't think he has been a PM yet, he's more a logical voice of dissent to a PM.
