It's daft because it is possible to have a name that doesn't reflect one's ethnicity. If her parents had been in Britain for a while when she was born they may have heard first names not related to their country of birth.

please. Maybe it's because i was born in the middle east but melody is clearly a name she chosen for herself. No one and i mean no one would name her melody. not her parents, grandparents, great parents etc.

Susan isn't a Chinese name, so maybe it's that thing of taking Western names??? I don't know why Chinese people have Western names, maybe someone can enlighten me.
If Melody did change her name then that's her choice, I don't see the harm in that.
Melody beautiful? That's almost as laughable as calling Susan beautiful or Kate from a couple of years ago.
Melody is beautiful, Helen looked great with her hair down back at the house - hadn't really noticed her before.
