Each task has managed to hold my interest.

It's impossible to predict a winner (or even a final four now that Helen and Tom have upped their games).

And I'm very relieved there's no Stuart Baggs type character who steals all the headlines and isn't nearly as entertaining as they think.

Where does this series stand with the rest of you?

Definitely better than the last two. Series 5 was a loada shite and the last series was OK but lacked interesting characters. This one has a lot more going on.

Ditto the sentiment re: Stuart Baggs types. He ruined every episode he was prominent in last series. (And he was plainly acting.)

Its interesting too that they semed o have tackled the issue that Lord Sugar in some past series often had little idea what had happened, or who said exactly what, or who sold what. He seems to have a lot more of the necessary data to decide who goes on, coming in not only from Nick and Karren but detailed logs by the production team on things like sales.

Not sure about Glenn or leon but everyone left also now has at least some positives working for them. There's a mix of strenghs and weaknesses everywhere too that makes the competition look more open. Some people have also learnt that you may not win if you don't get enough turns as PM - which undid a few people who might have won recently if they had more success to show.

Too much editing, 5 minutes it looks like one side is going to win, next 5 minutes its the other team that's going to win, then back again etc etc.

Just give it to me straight!

Sorry if there are similar threads but I've recently really got into the apprentice. Never really been bothered with it before (apologies). In the middle of watching series 3 at the moment cos I heard it was the best! how do the other series' rank along side series 3 and the current series task wise, character wise entertainment wise etc etc

The first series is the best for me. The candidates were by far the strongest.

The worst is series three as it had one of the the worst candidates in Paul Callaghan and the least likeable in Katie Hopkins, series four runs it close with Mickey Sophocles ranking as my worst candidate ever and the very unlikeable Jenny Celery, Alex '24' Wotherspoon and Lindi Mganze on board. Raef, Simon and Lucinda saved it though

I honestly cannot remember too much from the first year now, it was business than reality and they didnt know how big it would become

To be honest I'm enjoying this series less than any other and have had the urge on more than one occasion to give up and switch channels - never thought I'd say this as TA is one of my fav programmes. But I just feel this series is lacking credibility for me somehow. The tasks feel like "here we go again with the same old thing" and the contestants haven't gripped me - I haven't got a favourite and I don't particularly care who wins. Also haven't bothered with YF this series for the first time. I feel like it needs a real shake up or I'm not sure if I would bother with another series. Is it just me?

Agree with this I find this series very lacklustre in both candidates and tasks.

In fact I would go as far as to say that this is my least favourite series of TA.

Sorry OP.

This is one of my favourite series, it's entertaining and so far it's a close (admittedly because the contestants are seemingly average, but I don't mind) run thing... it's very difficult to predict a winner, unlike most other series. I like the tasks so far, with last night's task being one of my favourite tasks ever.

In terms of the business side of things it is probably more like the first 2 series (shown on BBC2).

As of now, I would rate it only behind S2 and S5. The clown characters (Saira, Michael, Baggs) are not present and also not really vile candidates (hello, series 4!) though Zoe does make some scary facials movements

Is it unpredictable? No, I can kinda guess the two finalists (yes, I do visit the spoiler thread, but there are only rumours in that thread). In terms of the final five it is a bit more unpredictable, as you can be a winning PM (in the past) and have a score of 5-0 before the task at hand and still be fired.

I'm loving this series. One of my favourites so far.

I started watching with Pantsman and Debrabarr and the lovely James, so that's always going to be my favourite because it was my first, and the others all have their good and bad points.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't like series 5 I'm currently watching it on youtube because I missed it that year and I'm enjoying it so far though I'm not far into it, maybe it gets worse.

I just watched the episode where they made the soap and it was the costing that screwed it up, I liked that one and I would like to see that task come up again.

now I'm on the episode with the cereal advertising and it looks like it's going to be a good one.

Overall I'm not sure what my favourite series is, there are some I missed but the most memorable for me was the one with the task with the kosher chicken.

It feels like that for me too. Maybe I've tired of the series, but there's just not anyone in this show that stands out for me or who I can identify with.

I loved the first three series, they were definitely the best for me. I have a slight preference for the third series, so hope you'll enjoy that one!

I agree this series is average, i don't think there is anyone who's outstanding & anyone can win it. I hate series 3 the most, but series 4 is worth watching for the Marakesh episode, & to see the brutal sacking of Jenny C, although the usless Sophocles should have been fired earlier than he was.

Vincent was the closest this series has come to a Baggs-type character IMO and even he didnt have as much charisma(if thats the right word)as Baggs

Yet, I can already tell you that Jim, Tom, Melody or Susan are going to win it as the rest have no chance at all.

With probably Tom and Susan in the final, as Lord Sugar seems to have it in for both Jim and Melody.

Glad you liked it.... Didn't you just love Tre? And wasn't Katie the most wonderful pantomime villain?

I loved the Tre/Simon bromance

Terrific series, probably my favourite.

And both had my top two quotes from that series

Tre at the art task "Titties and fish"

Simon in the booth directing the TV task in a high, high pitch girly scared voice "I don't know what I'm doing" - and that's your winner people; going with the wheelchair and not knowing what he is doing, Where was he hiding the "pictures"?

Series 3 is definitely my favourite series. I liked Tre, and Simon and him were hilarious - will never forget that selling task on a shopping channel.

Tre was fantastic, especially on the art task "by killing the ocean we're essentially killing ourselves"
Katie was great, some brilliant interview scenes with her. also loved the rivalry between Rory and tre
