Sorry not sure if there is already a thread on this

first got this game last year and played it occasionally but when I did I really enjoyed it liked the fact that the choices the person makes changes the storyline after all the time of and I finally decided I was going to actually complete it although I was a little bit disappointed with the ending I got from it

Spoiler

And I was left confused about who the killer was in the end

What’s everyone else's experiences of the game and what endings did you get?

I was pleased with it overall, even if the reveal of the killer did feel like a real cheat (for one scene most especially). It was a nice different experience in a field that has been over-saturated with generic FPS games for the last five years at least. I was lucky enough to get the good ending where everyone survived (that was supposed to).

I only played through it once, dont remember who died at the end (pretty certain I go the "happy-ish" ending. but just remember being really disappointed at who the killer was

Spoiler

Despite my gripes about the plot I loved the game, its the only game ever that hubby has sat down with me and played, he said it was like watching a movie lol. I'd love more of these type of games to come out

I really enjoyed Heavy Rain. There were some plot holes you could drive a bus through
Spoiler
but the performances were very good (in particular Ethan), the atmosphere and tension of some sequences were amazing
Spoiler
and I loved the music too, especially this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGzwir0Yezk

All in all it didn't quite live up to what it was attempting, but it had a lot of ambition and it was quite an experience. It has absolutely no replay value though.

I looked up other possible endings today some other really interesting outcomes one of the reasons why i love it is because it gives you the power to be able to change what happens instead of the outcome being pre-set

i
Spoiler
but all in all i really enjoyed the game

I disagree. I've played through it three times and I've really enjoyed it on every occasion. In fact, I plan on replaying it once more to unlock the fourth and final ending.

That said I agree with some of the gripes about the plot mentioned above, in particular
Spoiler

Nevertheless, I thought it was a good twist and I've been satisfied with each ending so far. The game certainly knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat.

I did love this game, I have only played it through once though - I just can't help myself doing the same things over and over, so I know I would end up doing the same things if I played it through again. I will play it again one day though.

Also I thought it would have been better if the killer changed. So if you play through it differently the killer would be someone different. However this would have messed with the story too much and meant lots of more work for the developers so I am happy with what was produced.

Not really, the only similarities to Heavy Rain I noticed in LA Noire were the decision making bits i.e. the bits where you decide how much you believe what a suspect is telling you during an interrogation, or the bits where you decide on whether or not to charge a suspect. You can make very similar types of decisions in Heavy Rain.

Nevertheless, if you're looking for something with an engaging story and interesting gameplay then Heavy Rain is definitely worth getting.

There is?

Mind you, I suppose the story does have the potential to go a variety of ways.

*Casts "Necromancy" *

I enjoyed Heavy Rain and have played it twice now. The game controls are a bit frustrating though, and a lot of the scenes are unnecessarily repetitive. There seemed to be a lot of trips to the medicine cabinet, and sometimes you think "oh no, the game won't make me do that again will it?" Sure enough, it will. Also sometimes the controls freeze and you end up powerless to interfere.

However the game does have an excellent storyline and, if you can put up with it's annoyances, it's worth it.

It's more of a movie than a game really, but a movie where you can try and influence the ending.

I played it with the move, finished it and then sell it and now regret selling it

I will buy it back soon and replay it hoping for a different ending

the more i think about it, it seems like this game could be played so many times and not get annoying or repetitive, when i buy it back i'm going to do a playthrough every few months so that over time i will have forgetten some of the details so even if i do go the same route again it will still fell somewhat fresh

It is definitely worthwhile playing through twice.

First time I got an awful ending, I believe it may have been the second "worst" ending possible. Some dreadful decision making on my part throughout

Second playthrough I knew what mistakes I had made so got the perfect ending

Still tempted to go back and do it a third time as there's a few scenes I haven't witnessed at all.

I'm so close to platinuming this game. One trophy left. "Kamikaze". Why is this trophy so ridiculously hard to get? It's the bit where the cop car starts chasing you.

Not played this game since a few months after release so I may rent it & play through as I won't remember much from my previous playthroughs
