Curry Sauce
I've just bought some Asda Smartprice Curry Sauce for 9p per jar.
It's one of the best curry sauces I have ever tried. Went back to get some more - it had come down to 5p per jar. I stocked up, but it's back to 9p now. First time I've tried anything from Asda's cheap range, but honestly is was excellent. |

The best thing about those products is that it's cheaper to buy them and clean out the jar to keep than actually buying jars.

OP, can I ask, do you think one could just heat the sauce a little and have it with chips, or is it the sort of sauce that need to be cooked for a while?

I'd wait until it's back down to 5p. You don't want to be throwing money away.

I just added some cooked chicken and heated for 5/10 minutes. I quite like the idea of having with chips, thank you, will try it tonight. |

That's good to hear, i want to try it with chips too. I don't like much Chinese food, so always feel a bit bad ordering just chips and curry sauce. I don't know why, it's all money to them!
Chip shop and Asda for my dinner tomorrow then, healthy! |

For the price of 5-9 pence, it has got to be full of rubbish.

I've heard that so many times and never once has it been true. Can't say I believe a 9p sauce will be any different in that regard tbh

Asda have also got some foot long Pork sausages in the freezer section at the moment if you fancy a Sausage dinner!

Doesn't sound anything like Chinese curry sauce you'd get round here.

Tomato puree was the first thing that jumped out. No standard chinese curries round here have the slightest hint of tomato. Nor sultanas.

Does it say it's a Chinese curry sauce on the label? Indian ones have tomatoes and sultanas in them.
The sauce sounds like it's dairy free so I'll have to try some all the branded Korma sauces have milk in so I can't eat them, stupid allergy
