Supper......do you have anything
Like after tea later on ?
I used to just have a snack later on, toast, butty or a ham roll, or even crisps ( if i had them in),, but these days i just have my tea then maybe a pudding, and coffee and thats it..Don't really bother with any supper...Hows about you ?

When I used to live with my parents we ate tea at about 18.00 so by 10 we might have a slice of toast or something like that but now I'm not living with them I eat my main meal at about 22.00!

We have dinner quite late! So no supper for us.
When I lived at home and we all used to eat at 6pm / 6.30pm my Mum would sometimes do some chicken wings or some kind of nibbles at 9.30pm.. |

Tea is something you drink at half past four.
Supper is your evening meal. |

No, we have our dinner around 6-6.30pm, and that's it until breakfast next day. I'll usually have a piece of fruit or a glass of juice while watching the TV a little later though.
I think most families are healthier nowadays and don't bother with an extra meal. As a kid, I can remember having a drink and biscuits before bed. |

Sometimes i have yogurt or fruit, but i try not to have anything else as my dinner is around 730pm.
Even as a kid, we would eat around 5.30pm, but i only had some tea and biscuits later in the evening. |

I'm a late eater anyway but even if i'm still hungry I might still have a late night snack. Not very healthy I know but if I don't I wake up early hungry and can't get back to sleep.

Working evenings I have my dinner at lunch time (1pmish) so by 10.30pm I am quite keen on supper - usually a sandwich or a couple of ryvita and a nice cold glass of water.

We have our evening meal around 6.45, one course, no dessert and never eat anything after that. If I eat late I can't sleep.

Supper is your evening meal. I know there are folk who have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know folk who have breakfast, dinner and tea. I also know that tea is just a drink to some folk, rather than a meal. No problem with any of that. Each to their own. But I am intrigued - do you not have a meal called dinner? |

I have my last meal of the day when I get home around 6ish, dont like eating much later than that, I always feel bloated the next day if I do.
I remember having the discussion about meal names a while back with some friends, I always thought it was a regional thing tbh. I've always known them as breakfast - dinner/lunch - tea, majority of my northern friends seem to be the same, yet others in different parts of the country call them differently As someone else said though, each to their own. Doesnt really matter does it!

We have our main mean at 7.30pm-8pm generally (unless we go out and come in and want to eat later on). Again, no pudding. And no starter. Not unusual, yet many people eat differently in restuarants and have three courses (or sometimes more).

We have dinner fairly early - before 6.30 most nights. I don't usually eat anything else in the evenings, but my husband almost always has a bit of bread and cheese and some fruit later on.

I have one meal a day at about 8.00 - 9.00pm.
I eat nothing else - that's probably why I'm fat! |

Last night for example I has a Pasta Bake ready meal with some crusty bread.
Couple of Jaffa Cakes for pud. Yeah I know it's unhealthy, but I can't get out of the habit. I'm never hungry during the day. |

Where does dinner fit in to that method of nomenclature, then?

How fat are you? That's probably about 700 calories if that.
I do drink tea all day at work though. Average about 6 cups a day, two spoonfuls of sugar in each. All mounts up. I've heard that eating too late at night causes your metabolism to slow down to next to nothing, so your body ends up storing more fat than if I had the same meal at lunch time for example? Not sure how true it is though? Also, I shattered my knee cap middle of last year. Before that I went swimming three times a week, but since I got the plaster off, I had increased my hours at work so I can't get to go in the mornings now. |

(sorry if that's an obvious question) It might take a bit of getting used to, but after a while you'll wonder how you have ever drank it sweetened. |

Not being nosy, you seem to weigh a hell of a lot for someone who doesn't eat much. |
