I have this phone and can honestly say its amazing!! I love the clear, HD pictures & videos and the Android market is great with loads of apps and games. Only downside I think is the battery, it does die quickly for example if your reading an e book or playing a game.

![]() That seems the general problem with Samsungs though The Battery lasts very little but they used to give you 2 (one lasted a little longer) |

It's great, but the Galaxy S 2 is out now, so it might be worth looking at that instead.
The Battery lasts upto 18 hours of talk time ![]() It's supose to be a phone which uses very little energy I've seen 3 or 4 phones today that i like but it's very hard to choose

I got the Galaxy S in February. On the whole, I love the phone. Screen is very responsive, nice and bright, and all the menus are very intuitive and easy to use. The battery life sucks, that much is true, but it's nothing a nightly charge doesn't fix.
There are a couple of things bugging me with it though. I have to reset it (battery and sim out etc), once a week almost, due to not being able to get on the net. I am not going near any settings at all, so I've no idea why the Internet connectivity is so erratic. The other is the music player. On a few occasions now, each time I've tried to some tunes every song is accompanied with a message saying that this type of file is unsupported. Which is rancid nonsense. Again, the only thing that seems to rectify the problem is a switch off, battery out, sim out job. Which is a proper pain in the hoop. As I say, I love the phone, and it's the best phone I've owned with regards to it's capabilities etc. In no way is it the most reliable though. |

If you are running the latest update on the S2 they apparently increased the battery life with some tweaks...Only had mine a couple of days but it's lasting the day with no trouble. I suppose it'll last longer when I stop playing with it!!

I think this can be said about most android phones, While my iPhone 3G is dated its reliable, never buggers about, it just works.

We use them in work and by and large they seem to do the trick. Unfortunately we are on Orange and the 3G signal is diabolical. Only manage GPRS most of the time but that is not at all to do with the phone, nor is the inconsistency connecting via Bluetooth to the MD's Volvo XC60.
Got a Galaxy Tab at home on 3 and Overcome 2.0 Gold ROM. Works like a total charm everywhere. |

Never had to do this with any of my Android devices. Mind you I always run custom ROMs. Maybe you should speed up yor 3G with a decent custom ROM. Oh, I forgot, you can't do that if your stuck with Apple.

Im with Vodafone and their 3G signal is brilliant and infact i've got no complaits with them at all.
On a national basis 3/T-Mobile is hard to beat, they have brilliant coverage and performance isn't too shabby. I am a Vodafone customer; seriously looking at moving back to 3 or T-Mobile once the contract is up. I would like my phone to be on 3G more than once a decade. |

In your area. Nationally it is a disgrace - vast swathes of the country with nothing more than GPRS. Vodafone's plan is to upgrade them to EDGE - big whoop.

A friend's dongle was reaching the magnificent speeds of 40bps. (No typing error, a Windows update download was scheduled to take months) |

I have had 6Mbs download and 4 Mbs upload with Vodafone on my Galaxy S. It's an amazing product and used as a WiFi hotspot brilliant with a laptop, netbook or tablet PC.
Performance has greatly improved with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) including battery life. The Galaxy S is a superb handset which I have no problems living with for a 24 month contract (already had it 12 months and still impressed). |

T-Mobile have suffered from the link with Orange whose own coverage was pathetic. I have had difficulty linking to a voice call or even sending SMS messages in London E2! At times, I could forget GPRS and only make emergency calls!
Not much better there on 3 either. A friend's dongle was reaching the magnificent speeds of 40bps. (No typing error, a Windows update download was scheduled to take months) I've had a really good experience with 3 in the past (though never used it in London) - several megabits down, approx 1Mbit up. Only problem is the 2G roaming. |
