Lobster tails
I bought lobster tails to cook for my mothers birthday dinner tomorrow. I've no idea what to do with them though! I was hoping I could do the same as I do with prawns, stuff / coat with lime juice, coriander and chili, wrap in foil and bake for 20 minutes or so. Anyone know if this will be ok or have alternative recipes? I don't want to thermador as I'm serving with salad and home grown potatoes.
Thanks |

I'd just grill and serve with melted butter or hollandaise and new potatoes myself.

Thanks Greedyrosie. I'd love to grill but a number of years ago I bought a range with one massive oven / grill. Damn fool. Can't use the grill any more. Don't want to boil them so baking was my thought. I'd hate her to have a rubbish dinner so maybe I should go buy prawns instead.

They were from Waitrose, fresh in so far as they were not frozen when I bought them. In the end I marinaded them in garlic, chilli, coriander, lime juice, oil, salt and pepper, along with the prawns I bought as backup.Wrapped the lot in foil and baked for 15 mins, took prawns out and gave the tails another 10. I'm not a fish lover but I have to say they were bloomin lovely. Sadly mother loved them too and I only bought two so she scoffed the lot apart from my taster mouthful. She ate all the prawns as well!! Christ knows what she'll be like on her 70th next year. TBH, at £5 a pop, I am not sure I'd buy them again. We would have needed at least three each to make a decent meal. Maybe once I'm working again! |
