I think BBC1 are sticking with F1 which makes sense
Case Histories will just be on a weeks delay and i doubt they had anything major planned for the week after Case Histories finished anyway so it makes sense to stick with F1 which has been getting its best ratings in a few years now and tommorow at 9pm im sure they will show one of there reliable New Tricks or Traffic Cops repeats which is a shame in itself, i remember a few years ago if the BBC had any spare slots from programmes running early or being delayed we were usually guarenteed a comedy classic like Only Fools and Horses or something, i wonder what an episode of that would now get in a prime time slot, would it rate better than NT or TC?

can imagine Scott & Bailey taking a hit tonight with these unusual circumstances (the Grand Prix can go on until around 10.05pm our time).

I guess contractually they have to show the F1 in HD? It's just repeats on BBC HD after Family Guy so delaying would look to be the best option.

The repercussions of this overrun could well continue to spread...

Yeah, F1 running at the same time as Case Histories and Scott & Bailey may well dent both the dramas ratings I reckon. Last week there were about 1.8m watching BBC2 between 9-10pm, tonight it'll be higher (could be almost double that) so surely it's bound to take away a few of the viewers who watched BBC1/ITV1 last week.

Surely Case histories will be the hardest hit as BBC one just sent the majority of its audience to BBC 2

Odd then that ITV is scrapping it. I know Heartbeat was worn out, but a drama like this should carry on. Old people like it, so what, I often wish a lot of junk aimed at people in their twenties like Hollyoaks and Kerry Katona The Next Chapter would be zapped. I wonder if ITV, who I am often quite supportive of nowadays, think that the audience of The Royal will be watching in front of their one bar electric fires eating Tesco value beans.

Looks like no Family Guy in HD tonight.

Considering how dramatic that F1 race was, can't help but think it would have got quite a peak had it stayed on BBC One. Still should have done well of course.

I really hope people followed the F1 to BBC Two. They'll have been rewarded with a bloody incredible finish to the race!

That deserves a 7m or 8m peak. Easily. Superb stuff. A lot of people I know who don't watch F1 are commenting on it.

EDIT: I would revise that upwards to 10m, but that's unlikely.

Reckon it would of had 10m if on BBC One. Gutted it wasn't. Reckon a 6m peak at 10pm on BBC Two.

What an incredible F1 tonight. So BBC1 had 4 hours (mostly rain) and BBC2 had 90 minutes. The ratings will have climbed on BBC1 but would they have dropped off about 8pm?

Hoping the BBC2 coverage got a 5m+ average - ought easily beat the BBC1 figure - (which was basically a study in Canadian weather), hopefully a peak of 8m+ sometime after 10pm, as dramas on BBC1/ITV1 finished - as the breathtaking finish was building.

Case Histories could be hit with a lot of male viewers especially switching over to F1. Expecting to see a huge number watching tv tonight.

Here are my predictions for overnights (averages)

BBC1
5.00-9.00 F1 Grand Prix - 3.7m
9.00-10.00 Case Histories - 4.5m
BBC2
8.00-9.00 James May Toy Stories - 3.1m
9.00-10.30 F1 Grand Prix - 5.1m
ITV1
8.00-9.00 Popstar to Operastar - 3.4m
9.00-10.00 Scott & Bailey - 5.0m

For obvious reasons, would be very interested to see a BBC1 vs BBC2 vs ITV1 breakdown for primetime if possible in the morning.
