While we don't have yesterday's overnights, I'm pretty sure the answer to that question is 'No'.

based on what?

PSTOS has an audience of 4.5m; Radio 3's weekly reach is 2.2m; Classic FM's weekly reach is 6.1m. Bearing in mind neither play much opera (most classical music isnt opera); I'd hazard quite a few viewers to PSTOS listen to neither, so how do you come to your conclusion?

I see ratings!

Would have wishes for a higher peak for BBC2, but the peak for BBC1 looks pretty high.

ITV1 down week-on-week, ouch.

Do you have the averages for the F1?

EDIT: They'll be 15-minute peaks, so 5-minute peaks are higher.

Thanks Dubsj. Great peaks for the F1, I wonder when that BBC1 peak came as the race was suspended at about 6.45pm.

Average F1 on BBC ONE 6.3m.

Average on BBC TWO needs to be recalculated.

If it helps(?) for BBC2, coverage went from 21:00 to 22:30. Does BBC2 include BBC HD for the F1?

Excluding the Grand Prix pretty disappointing ratings all round. Just wait until Robbie arrives and sees this.

Ignore BBC ONE average as well. Apologies

Excellent ratings for F1 (if correct) and well worth the almost 12 hour wait. F1 on BBC2 ought average 5m+ can't see anybody switching that race off once it got going again. Case Histories down but as we seen it timeshifts very well, there was a repeat on BBC HD at 11.15 but probably wouldn't rate so well.

PSTOS is struggling, especially the results show - people aren't that interested in Z list celebs singing opera. I wonder what won at 9pm - if BBC2 F1 beat Scott & Bailey.

Scott & Bailey took the 9pm hour then ? Good result considering the opposition.

So rain watching in Montreal wins the nights rating award. Unless The Royal comes along and spoils the party.

Fantastic for the F1 on BBC1 all things considered, but I think everyone expected Case Histories to fall anyway, so it was going to fall even further with practically a 0.0m lead in.

Decent for The Royal-it doesn't really matter how it rates now anyway, but at least it will finish with respectable numbers. Not that good for Popstar. I caught a bit of it and it's more niche than I thought so I guess it's doing OK for an opera show, but with the competition it should have done well last night.

Good for S&B. I reckon without the F1 it would have held stable and with the huge timeshifts I reckon a 2nd series is definitely on the cards. It really isn't that often that an ITV1 drama builds so much on its lead in-especially against another drama.

Those actuals are a bit different to Robbie's predictions

Strangely ITV seems to have done worse than he predicted but the BBC seems to have done much better?

So that's an average of:

17:00 to 21:00 - 6.23m (27.5%)
21:00 to 22:30 - 5.13m (20.7%)

Bad decision to move it to BBC2 it has to be said.

Case Histories had 4m. Would it have hurt moving that to BBC2 instead?

Case Histories will timeshift very well, it did have a 5.9m lead in - of course many turned over for F1 but some will have watched Case Histories as planned, then set the F1 to record on BBC2 in case of further delays.

It would have seriously messed up Case Histories tonight, BBC2 will be very happy with a 5+ million rating - Coast would have got 2m? The rain actually helped BBC increase audience share.

Thanks a lot dubsj.

The F1 did a lot better than I expected with some terrific peaks. Disappointing for Case Histories though, 4m isn't great. Hopefully it'll recover tonight. S&B understandably down, and 5.4m is a good result. It has fell a lot over the last couple of weeks though. Still good, mind. Good for The Royal but disappointing for the Operastar performances and dreadful for the results.

Dubsj - do your ITV figures include HD and +1?

Cheers for the ratings. Do you know what James May's Toy Stories had at 8pm? Also do the ITV1 numbers exclude or include +1?

F1 did really well. I didn't think 5m+ would've stuck with it during the 2-hours when there was no race on. The peaks are excellent and Top Gear aside, I think that;s BBC2's second highest rating of the year only behind the Morecambe and Wise drama. Case Histories seemed to be dented the most by the opposition, it has a chance to recover tonight against filler competition on ITV1, but I'm not sure it'll return back to 5m levels. Surprised that PSTOS was down week-on-week, given the weather was worse and better lead-in. Would've expected it to at least be flat. The Royal was up a little bit, but again not as much as I thought it'd be (although i wasn't expecting 6m+ like some!). Okay for Scott & Bailey given that 2m more people were watching BBC1/BBC2 this week which would've had an effect, but it can't really lose another chunk of viewers next week.
