dubsj, do you have a 15-minute breakdown for BBC1 from 5pm until 9pm and then BBC2 from 9pm until 10:30pm? Would be much appreciated if you do. 
Excellent Sunday night for BBC1 & BBC2, F1 viewers do have stamina for sure, as Case Histories was 4m tonight's part 2 could be around 4.5m due to poor competition - can't see many wanting to watch The Waltons 2011.
EE was strong tonight deserves 9m will likely get 8.2m.

Do you have the ITV1 figures excluding +1, out of interest, dubsj?
BBC2 might've technically won the 9-10pm hour.
Poor for Popstar To Operastar and I suspect after this it will continue on a downward trajectory for the rest of the series. To be fair who is it supposed to appeal to? It has the trashy nature of a reality show, but the niche high brow element of opera hence immediately alienating both audiences... Also a worrying downward spiral for Scott and Bailey and after an extremely promising series opener, although I suspect it will stabilise and perhaps even pick up from next week onwards. F1 got quite frankly amazing figures considering a good proportion of the show was basically filler and who'd want to watch cars going round a track for all those hours is truly beyond me...

Ratings request for later this week if anyone can - Splatalot on CBBC (7.45am/4.30pm) - basically a kids Wipeout, and unlike Total Wipeout the BBC haven't stripped away the spirit of the show in making it.

I don't think Popstar to Superstar did that badly - I think it skews younger than The Royal so was going to be hurt more. Next week will be the test when it goes head to head with The Antiques Roadshow again. And if it falls further will ITV1 swap it round with The Royal and give it up as a bad job as BBC1 eventually did with So You Think You Can Dance?
Scott and Bailey held up very well considering the tough competition, as did Case Histories. The Formula One performed excellently but for all those shocked at how it held up on BBC1 during the rain...isn't watching the weather a British pasttime?

PTOS seems stuck between a rock and a hard place, people who like reality shows generally don't like opera and vice versa. It is a brave attempt to combine two genres of programmes, and is part of reality's move into hybrid formats, but again it does smack of the previous regime at ITV's love of creating shows with obscure or well past it celebs. However, PTOS has to be seen as summer filler- it would probably flounder in a winter peak time slot- and will most likely go after this series. Yet it is a big improvement on some of the really gross reality shows ITV used to show in the summer a few years ago.

I won't comment in detail on last night's ratings, as I'll get slagged off whatever I say.
But I will say one thing - that's a fantastic performance by the F1 to get shunted to another channel midrace and win the flagship Sunday night slot against two big 9pm BBC1 and ITV1 dramas. (I've assumed S&B, once ITV1+1 aggregation is stripped out, will have done no better than the 5.13m the F1 averaged on BBC2)

Putting SYTYCD to one side for a moment. We keep reading on this thread about the "dire" state of light entertainment on the Beeb. This is supposedly one of ITV's main strengths. Do you really think ratings of below 4m for the performance show and below 3m for the results show even including +1 and HD are decent results for a show that just a couple of weeks ago got one of ITV1's plummest slots of the year? It's clearly below par, even taking into account last night's circumstances. You can't just blame it on the F1, as the shares were down around 2 points and 4 points respectively for the two shows. The weather was as terrible here as it was in Canada so lots of eager eyes in front of tellies, and quite simply it should have done better as an alternative.

I am pleased for James May, the F1 auidence was obviously very loyal, but some of those The Royal predictions were way off base. The 2nd episode of Family Guy preformed well. Popstar to Operastar looks to be a flop, like SYTYCD before it, it should never have come back for a 2nd series.
Just wondering... what did BBC HD show last night between 9-10.30pm? Was it the F1 or something else (Coast and Family Guy)? Just need to know for the above ratings roundup, so I can change the rating for the BBC2 F1 airing if indeed it was also shown on BBC HD.
