Seeing as we've been doing UK daytime ratings - I've not posted the non-primetime numbers for the US in a while. As has been the case for a long time, NBC dominate in most areas although the late night performance has taken a hit since the Conan debacle. NBC have fewer soaps because they ditched some to extend The Today Show.
Breakfast Shows:
NBC - The Today Show - 5,588,000 (2.0)
ABC - Good Morning America - 4,542,000 (1.4)
CBS - The Early Show - 2,196,000 (0.7)
The demo for breakfast is adults 25-54 - ratings for most recent week available.
ABC boast in their latest press release that the gap betwen GMA and The Today Show is the lowest in 4 years. While most breakfast shows air 7-9am, The Today Show goes on to 11am (changing hosts along the way).
Evening News:
NBC Nightly News - 7,849,000 (1.8)
ABC World News - 6,690,000 (1.4)
CBS Evening News - 5,511,000 (1.2)
Demo is 25-54, ratings are the most recent week available.
Late Night (2010-11 Season Averages):
11.35pm:
ABC - Nightline - 4.0m (1.0)
NBC - The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - 3.9m (1.0)
CBS - The Late Show with David Letterman - 3.6m (0.9)
12.05am:
ABC - Jimmy Kimmel Live - 1.7m (0.5)
12.35am:
NBC - Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - 1.8m (0.6)
CBS - Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson - 1.8m (0.5)
1.35am:
NBC - Last Call with Carson Daly - 1.0m (0.4)
Demo is adults 18-49
Soaps:
CBS - The Young and The Restless - 4.7m (1.5)
NBC - Days of Our Lives - 2.3m (1.0)
ABC - General Hospital - 2.3m (1.0)
ABC - One Life to Live - 2.5m (0.9)
ABC - All My Children - 2.3m (0.8)
CBS - The Bold and the Beautiful - 2.8m (0.8)
The demo is women 18-49, ratings from most recent week (GH and B&B both hit all time lows)
One Life to Live and All My Children have already been cancelled. General Hospital might not have long either as ABC are cutting another hour from daytime and bringing in Katie Couric's syndicated show for their owned and operated local stations.
First Run Syndication:
1. Judge Judy - 9.15m
2. Wheel of Fortune - 8.83m
3. Jeopardy - 7.50m
4. Entertainment Tonight - 5.02m
5. Inside Edition - 4.11m
6. Judge Joe Brown - 3.49m
7. Dr Phil Show - 3.44m
8. Live with Regis & Kelly - 3.19m
Ratings for most recent week available (first week after Oprah). Two and a Half Men (across multiple showings) attracts 8.78m viewers a day, Family Guy pulls 7.06m.
Syndication ratings are average daily ratings - but they are a gross of each days ratings rather than each individual broadcast (a boost to shows like Judge Judy & TAAHM which are often shown more than once a day).
