We should be thankful they're not starting Batman Begins at 9.40pm then splitting the news around it. Maybe the success of The Shawshank Redemption has given them more confidence that films don't have 'early' slot to do well.

That's hardly surprising as it gets moves to a different slot pratically every fortnight. Finding Holby City on BBC1 Scotland is the TV equivalent of Where's Wally.

Looking at those ratings, maybe BBC Scotland should have gone with

8.30pm My Family
9.00pm Holby City

from next Friday onwards. They need a junction at 9pm, to win viewers back after Coronation St.

Maybe BBC Scotland's scheduling is done in the pub?

The Grand Prix should do OK for BBC One, I reckon it will average out at 5 million. Actually this month should be quite good for the BBC's sports department and BBC ratings in general with Wimbledon coming up, and should Murray get to the quaters, expect about 8 million to tune into extended coverage.

It looks like rain for the race tomorrow - McLaren will certainly hope so anyway - and that could result in some good ratings, as there will surely be some incidents. Plenty of rain due in the UK as well, so could be very good numbers for tomorrow's race.

But if Vettel can get another win - and he looks set fair for it, weather permitting - then the season could be as good as over at barely third-distance. It would be like a football match where one team is 4-0 up after half an hour. Sure, the other side could win 5-4, or 6-5, but you'd bet against it.

The ratings for the rest of this season could well slump, as we get a one-horse race for the title.

BBC1 should have a very good day tomorrow anyway, with the Murray tennis final (if not rained off) and the F1, although BBC2's British MotoGP coverage could take a hit (and that will be likely rain-affected too).

Those are some seriously low shares for Holby City on BBC1 Scotland, they would equate to ratings of around 1.8m-1.9m, if the entire BBC1 network had those shares. It must definitely be having an effect on A Question Of Sport's and HIGNFY's networked overnight ratings; although I accept that even accounting for the opt-out, HIGNFY would still be a tad low. No doubt this will also reduce the ratings for My Family next week as well. Also worth baring in mind of course that the officials won't be a fair comparison either due to opt-outs being stripped out.

Based on those shares it does seem a bit odd, why they even bother finding a slot each week to show Holby. There were some occasions last year when it was turning up on Sundays whilst the rest of the UK had Antiques Roadshow and it usually gets an airing during the New Tricks repeats too.

And we now have a date for primetime Horrible Histories with Stephen Fry replacing the rat.

Sunday nights at 6pm starting from June 19th.

It's no wonder it's not building up an audience really - it's being shoved about to ridiculous levels.

ITV's gardening show will win every round because it's on ITV. Gardener's World has suffered as the show isn't what it was ane because it faces Corrie. Injustice was solid across the week. I enjoyed it and think Charlie Creed Miles should be an awards contender next year.

Good rating for CS with the Xin conclusion, C4 Comedy Gala rated well and hopefully will timeshift above 2010 figure. EE lost ground but deserves more, can see it recovering on Monday, some good plots running now and a lot less silly scenes recently.

Sahara ought rate well for C4 and a decent lead in for Camelot opening episode, is 2.5m for Camelot too optimistic? Ice Age 2 on ITV1 seems to have been on ITV2 a few times already and that may hit ratings. SYTYCD may just scrape 4m, the results will be lower. Casualty with 5m or so will win the highest ratings.

The Cube McFly special - can't see them pulling in many viewers, though for charity hope it does ok, ITV1 finishing of primetime with Batman begins again - I'm sure this was under 2m last time, so expecting something like 1.5m this showing.

quite low for EastEnders but i assume the warmer weather sweeping the southern part of the UK is affecting it
It's clear that the south is/has been warmer going by the Wild fires and lack of water

EastEnders is on form right now and have a huge summer ahead so it will bounce back
