But didnt you disagree with EE being on BBC2 half an hour ago?

So its now 9pm, Dan you would have scheduled EE for now, the match is continuing what do you do? Lets BBC3 have the first play?

Yeah and im saying that it makes no sense what so ever.
The BBC should think things through abit more.
They know the Tennis could run over so whats wrong with an Alternative Schedule.

I think EastEnders at 9:30 would work actually and feel they should try it sometime(have they ever?)

The BBC could drop the BBC 3 repeat if they wanted

It's the pure stupidity behind this one that confuses me. BBC2 had tennis scheduled until 9pm anyway. Just because it's Wimbledon and Murray shouldn't have to see the whole schedule chucked up in the air - it already has a place on a channel accessible to all.

It should have changed now (ie. 9pm) as BBC2 had a new drama plus Glastonbury, which is more important that an axed comedy and a repeat. But before 9pm, BBC1 had a new magazine show and a new episode of a soap over BBC2 which already has tennis scheduled.

But the announcer said 3 times in the first 9 minutes where EE had gone, if you hadn't heard it at 2000 and 2003 then you're either incredibley stupid or you wouldnt have seen EE in the first place fully anyway

didnt they stop that from happening when Cameroan and Clegg became PM & Deputy PM as long as both shall live?

the problem with that of course, is that you will have already missed the first 9 minutes of EE

If Dan had his way they'd ask the players to postpone the match for 30 minutes until EastEnders had finished.

It should've been known that the match was always going to run beyond 8pm considering it was going to be a minimum of three sets by 7.30pm. They could've reset the EPG accordoingly by quarter to 8 at the latest.

NO i said they way the BBC just moved their flagship over to BBC2 at last minute was wrong.
I would have just had EastEnders follow after the tennis on BBC1 (whatever time that maybe)

If past 9:30pm then BBC3 could have had a first look at the BBC1 episode could have been shown Sunday evening.
Have the Omnibus (Mon-Thur) and show Enders at 6:30 or whenever a repeat is on BBC1 (im sure there's many)

to be fair, it appears like Tennis matches go on for a while, the players might appercaite the break.

This squabbling over EastEnders, is getting silly now.

There are plenty of interesting ratings questions raised by the rescheduling. How will ITV be affected? The weather is pretty grey and overcast, is there a big combined audience? etc

Am I reading this right. People on here think they know better than the BBC, who by the way are under immense pressure in quickly evolving situations such as this one to get it right. 9 times out of 10 they get it spot on, including tonight, and people still moan. The only just punishment for such behaviour IMO is a lifetime of ITV. That'll teach 'em!

At the moment, My Family is following the tennis on BBC1. If Ljubcic wins this set it could be latest airing for it ever.

Exactly.
The BBC moved EastEnders to the next night (Weds)
That worked better imo and they kind of kept people informed abit more

Of course Not.
This isn't the 1960's now or had you not noticed that?
There's plenty of ways to inform people of a possible change.

I recall that night, it also got in the way of an episode of Luther, but if I recall correctly they did show that in the end.

I'm a very big Eastenders fan and even i agree that Murray and the tennis should take priority on BBC1, any fans will find it on BBC2 and if they dont then they arent true fans if you ask me

I think the BBC did the best they could tonight.

I think The One Show, EE and Corrie will have some low numbers tomorrow!

What were you expecting? Advance notice? Live television doesn't quite work that way.

Anyway this is boring now. You could debate this until you were blue in the face. I doubt any solution would be ideal but they made the right decision tonight IMHO.

The main issue, as I see it, is that most people now have PVRs and will have set it to record Eastenders on BBC1 and end up with tennis.

Others will have set theirs up to record tennis on BBC2 and will end up with Eastenders.

So both audiences lose their programmes. If the BBC did the sensible thing and kept to their published schedule then everyone would be happy and no-one would lose out.

To be fair its only an EE and an ITV fanboy complaining.
