Can anyone recall why Survivor was never a hit here?

Was it because of the success of Big Brother, which at the time was a massive hit, more so then The X Factor is now.

I actually saw this series, it was on ITV, was really boring, it was reworked into "Im a celeb..." but never offically.

OK, back onto ratings - and what do people think will happen with the Sunday evening battle tomorrow? The Royal held up ok last week, but BBC1 has different opposition in the Formula One against it. I guess the former could see a boost because less of a crossover audience? I think it could be the highest rating race in quite a while though.

Has the sister been cast yet? I'd heard about the brothers, but not the sister.

I have the feeling she could be Ronnie's replacement, as it were. She'll befriend Roxy, probably bed Jack, have a miscarriage...

I suspect that Milkshake is relatively cheap - there are a LOT of repeats. It also helps their reputation. Plus there are quite a few adverts and they sell sponsorship too

Yes and i think she's a bit younger then that.
Someone said she was filming scene's in Southend a couple of days ago and she's a good little actress.

I don't know much about her myself.

Seems the BBC are trailing My family quite a bit so they could get some good ratings there.
I assume that this is one of the final episode's from the last series?

It's got a decent lead in from Top Gear, though it is a repeat and will be up against a programme a lot of petrolheads probably enjoy watching. I think it'll get beyond 2m though. But I'm having an awful time of it in the Predictions Game at the moment, so I'm probably well off!

Maybe she'll appear for the first time in the Southend episodes and return home with them?

In The Times it says 'New Series'. on the ever reliable wikipedia it states that two episodes from series ten are bonus DVD additions so maybe they'll never make it to air? They filmed 16 episodes to make up series 10 and 11...if 8 have aired and 2 are DVD additions, does that mean series 11 will be six episodes in length?

It should at least hit 5m in the slot considering it'll only be up against Paul O'Grady, but next week will be tough with the Lady Gaga special planned. Then again, do Paul O'Grady's viewers really crossover with Lady Gaga fans?

I guess she will but i think she could possibily been wrapped up with the whole Rob thing to and it seems he will meet

A dramatic end

I thought maybe they would push out 1 last xmas special but i think they are making a big mistake axing it anyway.
The clips actually look good and the last series was one of the best in years and the fact it rates well to is just stupid.
I wonder what will happen if they lose 'The Life Of Riley' will the BBC regret My Family's axing?

IMO it should have stayed in the 8:30 Friday slots.

Oh yeah of course and whille i like Paul O grady i won't be turning in to that one

You don't think they'll bring back Whitney's "friend" from the Comic Relief episode as the Moon sister? That'd be an interesting twist.

I think My Family has been treading water for too long really. If they wanted to continue the show, they probably needed to bring in long term partners for Janey and Michael, and pushed the show in more of that direction. There's only so many family fall outs that can be shown. Only Fools and Horses lasted so long because it matured with age, something My Family's failed to do really.

I still enjoy watching it, but not as much as I used to.

You've seen Janey's many Boyfreinds and of course her son (Kenzo) is in the series alot and we have seen 1 or 2 of Micheals Boyfreinds.

I feel it's too early to end the show because of course the ratings are fairly good and imo it's the last of one of the better comedy's (one of the origianl kind)

Only fools got stale as they matured though and the 2001/2002/2003 xmas special's wasn't as funny as the others and became more like a Drama when compared to the Drama and Comedy Mix In One Foot in The grave.

I only found out the otherday 'Two Pints' is still going

I think they need to settle Janey down a bit in terms of a relationship, and Michael too. They need to develop them as characters some way anyway, as at the moment it's just really Ben and Susan going through the same old motions.

I agree with the Christmas Specials for Only Fools but they should've never brought it back after Time In Our Hands. If They Could See Us Now was ok but Strangers On The Shore was dire and Sleepless In Peckham was little better.

Hardly "prime" time - teatime on a summer Sunday.

Hoped they might have saved it for an autumn slot - pre-Strictly on Saturdays or Sundays for example

I thought it was rather daft to air a TG repeat and James May against the Canadian GP coverage - particularly if bad weather in Canada forces a delay/over-run.

You'd think they could've held it off a week...but never under estimate the BSI!

Then again, I believe I'm right in thinking the race starts at 6pm? If so, there's a two hour cut off for a race (unless they have to red flag it) so it'll be over by 8pm either way.

I think the first two episode of the new series are on last series' DVD but werent aired last year. All the left over episodes from when they filmed the 16 (or 20 I think it was) back-to-back will be aired this year.

I think Toy Stories will be fine. If anything, it could benefit from a bit of a switchover as the F1 coverage winds down. The chance of the coverage overrunning isn't particularly great, I don't think - even if it does rain. It would only be if the race got red-flagged at any point, which is pretty damn rare, really.

Was it 20? It was a comment made by Robert Lindsay that made me think it was 16.

I guess the two episodes being carried over makes more sense then them just producing two episodes for DVD release only!

There seems to be conflicting reports, I have always had it in my head that there were 20 episode made. With 7 airing to make up series 10, then 2 episodes shunted together to make the Christmas Special left 11 episodes remaining.

As Pizzatheaction posted a few days ago, the Radio Times website says 11, Radio Times magazine says 9 and BBC website says 10. I guess we will just have to wait and see how many turn up on screen.

Series 10 originally had 10 episodes planned - 9 normal and one Christmas special. Episodes 8 and 9 have not yet aired, but while Janey's Choice (10.9) will be broadcast this Friday, Harper vs Harper (10.8) hasn't been given a broadcast date yet; digiguide has 24th June's episode listed as A Night Out (11.1)

They're certainly keeping everyone guessing.

My Family's had a fantastic run but it's time for it to go, Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker want out and probably the only reason they still do is for the money, I imagine a series of MF would afford them to do more theatre.

I think Two Pints needs to end as well, they've lost three of the original cast and I think it'll essentially become a new sitcom once Will Mellor and Natalie quit.

Some, erm... interesting discussion overnight. Am interested to see how badly the SYTYCD Final did. Unfortunately the series average up to last week after 18 episodes was 3.11m (16.0%), so its unlikely it will fall under 3m, unless the Final literally flopped.

Robert Lindsay is now working on the new Sky1 sitcom, Spy.

BBC1 won every slot from 6am - 11.30pm yesterday. From Sam Hodges on Twitter.

I had a feeling people would go for BBC1 as the default channel, and this pretty much proves it. Must have been a dismal night for ITV1 then.
