It's likely that Scott & Bailey will be transferred to Mondays for its next series because Sundays next year looks full on ITV1: DOI/WAH in Jan-March, Lewis/Vera/Titanic in April/May, Euro 2012 in June, not gonna put it in July/Aug partly against Olympics, Downton/IAC in September-Dec. With a fast turnaround, they could get it on air in Spring next year, but that would mean filming from this October/November- could scripts written by one person be ready by then? Otherwise, it'd probably have to air on Mondays in Autumn 2012.

This is why the BBC repeats New Tricks so often. In terms of one-hour dramas, pretty much only New Tricks repeats well. Even a third showing of a NT episode would've rated at least half a million better than what SW had last night. George Gently repeats well too, which is 1.5 hours in duration, I suppose they could've aired that last night - I can't remember if they've repeated it this year at all.
