Interesting, but I would think their core audience would be younger women at home. The older viewers main channel in the morning seems to be BBC One. However, This Morning does seem dominated by adverts for online bingo, dodgy loans and Bright House, which suggests its demos aren't too good for advertisers.

I dont see whats young about This Morning, and im not sure why young people would be its core-auidence, I would think the core-auidence is people less likely to use the web during the day, or people who dont venutre above 20 on the EPG often. Such people obviously being older.

I hesitate to rejoin the debate, as my original comment seems to have pushed all_night a bit close to edge.

But....yes, the weather did have something to do with it, but Wimbledon didn't start until the afternoon (which may have affected LW, but not TM). And, as I posted earlier, TM's share was also down significantly week on week and that has little or nothing to do with the weather.

I never suggested it was a crisis, but a 16% share on a non-school holiday day really isn't good. I can't see why this observation has caused such controversy.

Incidentally, this was the official This Morning tweet before today's show:

Can't just look at one low figure out of context and say it "isn't good". Now, if its been low for the past few weeks then that is concerning.

I think more likely 30-50 year old women at home. The student following it had in the 90s seems to have moved on. Also it does appeal most to the non ABC1s, which is the core audience for ITV1 in the mornings and the nature of the subject matter( soaps, reality show contestants, Jordan, etc) suggests its aimed at redtop readers.

There was three feet of snow on the ground last winter and I managed to catch five minutes of it. Last night on Corrie, coming up, the eviction from I'm A Celeb last night, I couldn't wait to switch over. However, from a business point of view, I reckon TM will probably only cost £ 3 million a year to make and this is why ITV persists with it as it is cheap and returns a reasonable profit. Yet should it be scrapped, I wouldn't lose any sleep and I think I won't need to contact Dignitas.

What's going on? What is the This Morning obsession? Must've missed that memo, utterly bizarre!!

I'd guess The Voice is the best shot. Nouvelle Star had been in decline for years anyway so the odds are that another series would be down from the 3.6m (probably well down considering the gap). They had Fame Academy for several years in France on TF1 as well but it got axed in 2008.

And I think that rating for House isn't far off some of the numbers it was getting for FOX towards the end of the latest season. No wonder they wanted a lower licence fee!

ITV made the right choice regarding LO:UK on Sundays because on Mondays, it'd have got crushed by New Tricks. As for Single-Handed, I suspect they didn't want to put it against New Tricks which is another old-skewing drama and they probably think it can hold up better against a younger-skewing show like Torchwood. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen, but I can see why they've opted to put Single Handed away from New Tricks. As for Strictly Kosher, it sounds like a flop wherever it's scheduled.
