Gail...off on one again!
Last night's Corrie....well congrats on Sunita and Dev...at last! The time it took them though made it even more special as Sunita has loved him from the start...true character development (cough EE).
Anyways....Gail on her bloody Morale high horse over the sacking of Sarah. Ok, the girl has been through enough but she deserved to be sacked...not poor Candice! Then Gail....Ranting at her mother! I couldn't help think....next time you in debt what business is going to help fund it?!? Sorry, Gail and Sarah really annoyed me last night! |

Yeh I know what you mean, I thought that aswell. My mother said "That Sarah is a pain the in the arse" to which I replied "Well clearly takes after her mother" lol "Whats more important? your business or your granddaughter?" Err excuse me horse face but what exactly paid you out of all that debt you were in? Sarah needs to grow up and stop this whole I'm the Victim thing she's got going on. "Crawl on your hands and knees and beg for forgiveness" You what? To an insufferable little brat like that? I don't think so! Bethany doesn't carry on like that an she's 4! I would love to see Audrey slap Gail hard in the face. Why is it everytime Gail and Sarah are together its always "After all she's been through" yeh we know! try and move on

you had me laughing out loud at my computer....horse face!!!hahaha! On a more serious note, she is a victim and I suppose it is great how the writers have shown her to handle it...like the child she is. Sort of reinforces she is not an adult and not ready for the adult world. But Gail....come one love! |

Yes exactly. Sarah has been through a lot but if everyone keeps making allowances and excuses for her then she is never going to get past it. Her Gran giving her the job in the salon was fair enough but she was so lazy and had the audacity to think that she should be kept on over Candice who can actually cut hair not just sweep it up. She really is her mother's daughter isn't she, totally ungrateful for everything that has been done for her, Gail totally ungrateful for her mother saving her from bankrupcy even though she had to remortgage the salon in order to do so. Missing Link and her offspring need a good slap in their faces.

Yeh I don't dispute that Sarah has been a victim of a tough time lately but I think its unreasonable Gail and Sarah would expect Audrey to sack one of her staff just to give Sarah a job. I'm glad the writers didn't take that route as it just wouldn't happen in the real world, grandmother or no grandmother. I agree its good we've seen Sarah is still just a child herself and not an adult as she so clearly thought she was a few months back. However, she's being unreasoable now and her an her mother need one Audrey's high heels up the highest end of their backsides lol

I actually like Gail and think she is a good character and good at giving people a piece of her mind.
I can't see why everyone hates her.

Yes Audrey played a big part in bringing Gail and Sarah back together. If Audrey wasn't around, Gail wouldnt' have any of her kids as she'd have driven them away and Audrey wouldn't be there to bring them back. Audrey is like the shepherd and Gail is the dog who runs in and frightens them and they run away from her, Audrey gently brings them back lol

It's interesting cos you'd expect Sarah to have quite a mature attitude to life given everything she's been through, but she's just coming across as really selfish and childish at the moment. She really is her mother's daughter and I also totally agree that Gail is becoming more and more like Ivy each day!
I thought Gail's attitude towards Audrey last night was completely uncalled for. Yes, Sarah's been through a lot but she's never going to get over it if Gail insists on wrapping her up in cotton wool all the time! I really hope that they stop with all this poor little Sarah stuff soon though cos it's really beginning to grate on me Laura xx |

She was Gail's monther in law when Gail was married to Brian Tilsy. Ivy was just like Gail is with Nick.No woman will ever be good enough, no one will ever him as he should etc etc. Then Brian was stabbed outside a night club one night and died. Later she got together with Martin and had David. Ivy loved Nick to death, tolerated Sarah Lou but didn't want to know about David as he wasn't Brian's son.

Ivy went a little nuts (more than usual) because overly religious and went off to a retreat (in a convent I think). Then later when Nick was going through the "I hate you you're not my real Dad" pahse with Martin Ivy died and left Nick her house (although Don her husband was still alive then) on the condition that he change his name back to Tilsy, he changed it to Platt when Martin adopted him. Nick went about this and moved back into the house and tried to (might have suceeded) in throwing Don out. Don't know how that finished up though, can anyone tell me?

I don't know how that ended, but it's very interesting to see Gail compared with Poison Ivy. I've always had a little bit of sympathy with Gail, but am seeing her in a new light now.
Don went bonkers, too. Kidnapped Alma and drove her into the canal. (They must be fishing cars out of that bloody canal 24/7!). Did he end up in jail, or did he die? Can't recall. Ivy died in her convent, though. chuff.x. |

I think Don tried to kill himself by gassing his car...but I am not sure if it worked. I think Kevin pulled him out....that was Don right?

Don died by smashing his car into the viaduct, and the car bursting into flames. He tried to run down Mike Baldwin on the Street, but he jumped out of the way. If you look at the viaduct you will see burn makes to this day.
Don did drove into the canal, but was rescued and placed in a mental hospital. |

Don Brennan died when he tried to kill Mike Baldwin by mowing him down in the Street but MIke got out of the way and Don smashed into the wall at the end of the street and his car exploded into flames. Corrie Street isn't the most fire safety Street considering they've had two fires in the past two years and soon the Croner shop is to be incinerated by Mad Maya.

If Richard Hillman was the serial killer, then Don Brenan was the serial suicide bidder.
His first attempt was in 1992 after an affair with a barmaid behind Ivy's back, he felt he had nothing to live for after the barmaid dumped him, and drove his car at speed down a country lane and crashed - but survived, although he had part of his right leg amputated. (That was one of my most vivid memories of Coronation Street from being young, I remember seeing Don on a stretch bruised from head to toe, well one set of toes) The second attempt came in 1996 after Don's failed ownership of the Coronation Street garage. He locked himself inside and tried to gas himself, fortunately when he passed out his head fell on the car horn, sending out a sound which soon alerted Kevin Webster and Martin Platt who resuced Don - and also woke up a nosey Alec Gilroy. The third time was the infamous incident of 1997, culminating in Alma being driven into the Irwell Canal. Alma thought that Don was going to rape her, in revenge for Mike Baldwin having humilated him many times over the past couple of years, however Alma ended up dragging Don out of the canal and saving his life. The fourth and final time was the successful one, also in 1997. Having been admitted to hospital suffering from cancer, Don managed to escape custody and confront Mike at the factory, hitting him over the head but telling him he didn't want to kill Mike instantly because he wanted him to know who had hit him and why. Moments later Mike staggered out into the Street and Don tried to run him over in Alma's red MG, he missed Mike who dived out of the way, and Don crashed into the viaduct and was killed when the car exploded in a ball of flames.
