Didn't there used to be more posts on this thread?
No surprise though, as the tone of some posts have veered away from the pedantic and pathetic, to the downright nasty. |

inexperienced, childish, immature and sulky - throws a strop when she doesn't get her way
as for her 'business' ... I've seen her website. she's this year's Stu Baggs: a bullshitter and a chancer. Can you really see Lord Sugar going into a business partnership with a spoilt, whiny kid? she also has a really weird bent nose ![]() *coming soon to Living TV no doubt. |

If the shape of Susan's nose offends you that much, you always have the option to switch channels and not watch....

regarding the office furniture deal, she was WRONG. They weren't there to buy junk off the guy, they were there to charge him a fee for removing it. Why on EARTH would they consider giving precious money to the guy when he was willing to pay them!!
![]() The fact that the other team cannily decided to do it for free and therefore won the contract is beside the point. Susan displayed her total cluelessness there - it was laughable frankly. And tbh if someone like Zoe talked to me like how she did during that task, I wouldn't be very happy about voicing my opinion to her. Susan may not have grasped the initial idea of the process but as a project manager you're meant to be firm but fair to your colleagues. Not belittle them all because they don't understand what's going on. Your team mates are there to help you and to think that they would 'sabotage' the task is absurd. And OP you're comments about Susan's nose are damn right rude. What has that got to do with anything? You can't think of anything constructive to say so you just lash out on something as tedious as her nose? What gives you the right to comment on other peoples appearance? I would love for you to post a picture of yourself so we can pick out a tedious fault out of you. |

Why do I get the feeling 'Susan' isn't her real name either.

She is very whiny, but pretty harmless.
She is too meek and mild, she disagrees about everything, then uses it as a plan when the task fails, as it seems to be her strategy, as she never does it loud enough to be noticed, but she never does anything loud enough to be noted either. I think she is useless, but for some reason, Alan Sugar likes her, as she is nice enough person, but useless in the tasks, as I cannot remember anything noteworthy that she has done this series. |

![]() I do think she is a lot more polite and restrained than most of the others. She has her opinion but she doesn't force it. She's the sort of person that would disagree with me and I would end up seeing it her way because she says it with charm, unlike most of the others and actually she ends up being right most of the time anyway- if only she had the confidence to push her opinions forward a bit more. I'm sure Sugar will hammer all her nice personality traits out of her though and she'll become just as cynical and pushy as most of the other contestants, because apparently that's what you need to succeed in business... |

i like susan. it is a shame she does not act very forceful when she seeks mistakes like when jim stupidly refused to negotiate in the first pitch
i think it's because of her cultural upbringing. East asians tend to be reserved most of the time and very polite She is surrounded by double dealing sharks and it can be hard forcing yourself. But she has to. |

I think the term you are looking for is pretty useless.

I think she is useless, but for some reason, Alan Sugar likes her, as she is nice enough person, but useless in the tasks, as I cannot remember anything noteworthy that she has done this series. besides she has opened her own buisness from scratch. not bad for a 21 year old. susan is very capable person. Her problem is one of adaptability. Adapting to an environment where there are people like zoe and helen who are gunning for you. people who see you as a weak link and want to jettison you straight away because they confuse being gentle with being weak. |

What are you trying to say? Just because she is Chinese she couldn't have a English name? I have a chinese friend and his "real" name is Jason.
I honestly don't know if she was born 'Susan' but it is common for Orientals to give themselves an English sounding names when they come to the UK. |

) to give a practical example of how she's meant to 'adapt'. As I've just said in another thread, Sugar bangs on each series about certain people needing to force themselves forward more. But I distinctly remember Susan being assertive to Zoe on the way back to the house in the car last week. She confronted Zoe about the way she doesn't listen to her and basically tried to work through their issues in a mature way; but Zoe just droned on and on, being as aggressive and hostile as before. So not sure what else Susan's meant to do in similar situations if that's the response she gets when she tries to push herself forward. That may not have been a task situation so Sugar wouldn't have known about it etc but it does show that even when Susan has the confidence to bring her issues up with others, they don't listen; thus people can't say she hasn't been assertive. |

![]() You can't make everyone like you or even listen to you. If someone is team leader and she voices her opinion and they don't like it, they will ignore it, there is no way to adapt to that. She could say it as nicely. forcefully, subtly, assertively or intelligently as she liked- it wouldn't matter. These people are stubborn. I’m sure most people have been in situations where they have been right and people just haven’t listened to them. It’s hardly a basis to criticize her. If anything, you should be criticizing the ones who didn’t listen to her when she was right. |

But even when Susan was rubbishing the name of the magasine, her alternative "For the old looking young hearted" was bloody awful. They were right to go with Zoe's idea which was a pretty good name, just badly conceptualised by Jim.

I think all the names suggested were bad, but it was Jim refusing to negotiate that was most damaging and Susan did say they should negotiate. |

You honestly thought 'Hip Replacement' was a good name for a magazine?
I think all the names suggested were bad, but it was Jim refusing to negotiate that was most damaging and Susan did say they should negotiate. The lady on You're Fired seemed to think so too. It would have worked if Jim hadn't been so literal about the meaning. He ruined it. |
