Currently I have my PC connected to one HDMI port (to watch 720p/1080p videos) and my PS3 connected to the other port. I want to purchase an xbox 360 with kinect, but I am short one HDMI port - can I just use this?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...=hotukdeals-21

I am thinking connecting my PS3 and 360 to this, and leaving the PC connected to the other HDMI port. My main concern is, will using this device affect my image quality? Also, are there cheaper/better solutions out there?

Thanks

Doesn't your TV have Component inputs as well?, I would have thought so - so connect the XBox to those instead of HDMI, it gives you HD just the same, and just as good a picture.

Does your TV not have a VGA input for the PC thus free up the HDMI port.

Short answer is yes you can. I have a 5 port similar switch on one of the hdni inputs on my AV amp. It works fine.

I don't think you can get 1080p with the component.

Component video is quite capable of carrying 1080p but manufacturers choose not to use this ability - they generally limit it to 1080i at best.

If you hunt around you will find a few tvs that accept 1080p over component but the number of sources which will send 1080p seem rarer than hen's teeth.

You can on my Sony, finding a 1080p component source is a different matter though

The Xbox360 slim does not come suppled with component HD leads, It's now only supplied with phono leads and a scart connector.

I have 4 and that is not enough. I have my PC (which for some reason won't output through VGA), PS3, Blu-Ray player and Sky HD box. When I want to connect my camera, I have to disconnect something
