Knew to forum and hope to go Freesat so I am sure I will have loads of questions.

First one is, if I go Freesat with an offical Freesat receiver, will I be able to tune non Freesat stations as I believe there arfe hundreds others available from same satellite?

If so, which reasonably inexpensive receiver is good (I am in Ireland and the Celtic Tiger has well and truly escaped!!!) and am very much working to a budget?

Yeah, I think all receivers sold in the EU, theoretically at least, have to have the ability to tune FTA channels - some do it better than others, however. TBH, there isn't all too much worth watching in the other channels mode - it's mostly a few music channels and Sky News.
