I have a Panasonic TX-P42G20. I wish to wirelessly connect the Tv to my Broadband Router (in another room). I believe I need a Panasonic USB Dongle (DY-WL10EK). I am amazed that they retail for around £76 !!! Is there a cheaper alternative? I understand that such a link up will enable me to view applications such as U Tube directly onto the TV. Grateful for any help.

If you mean third-party dongles, then the answer is no. The only other way would be to buy a a wireless bridge and connect this to the TV via ethernet cable.

But accessing youtube etc via the TV and its remote isn't the best experience in the world (I have the same TV), far better to connect a laptop to the TV and use that.

I recently bought a Netgear WNDA3100v2 USB Adapter for use with a Panasonic TX-P42G30B TV. This unit cost me about £36 from Amazon. Information from other forums (see avforums.com) say it must be version V2 with a serial number starting "2D4" to work with Panasonic TVs.

Installation was performed using the Panasonic menu. During the last two weeks it failed to connect to my router automatically on just one occasion and required a partial "re-boot" - not a problem.

BBC iPlayer HD streaming is faultless via my Be ISP connection.

Thank you for your prompt reply - I will give the Laptop option a try.

Thank you for your reply. I had heard of the WNDA3100. Thank you for the 2D4 warning. Not quite sure what a "BE ISP connection" is.

I bought one of these recently though we have a tx-l42d25-b TV and it works absolutely fine - again, it was £36 on Amazon!

Thank you for responding - It's a toss up between...using a WNDA3100V2 (with a Prefix of 2D4), and using a Lap Top plugged into the back of the Panasonic. £36 is a whole lot better than £79 ! I will probably try both the Laptop and the WNDA Dongle. I have asked on other forums - I am finding that I get more response from Digital Spy than some of the other Forums - On some I didn't get any responses !
