Blue Planet DVD Sound Quality

I have just received my copy of The Blue Planet from Play247 and found the sound quality on the DVD to be very poor.
The DVD sound is in normal stereo but when played through my Toshiba SD100E which has had the audio set up as 2 Ch stereo I find that the narration by David Attenborough being swamped by the background music/sounds.With low background sounds the narration is fine.
Has anyone who has this disk noticed a similar effect?
