I agree Sid. I bored to death with the James/Anton and Brendan and Erin .
When is Moira Ross going to realise that Matt and Ian are far superior in every way to those 3 and Robin Windsor.

I do agree it would be better if they balanced out the height of the pros more with taller pros as well as the shorter ones so that taller celebs can compete also.

I do believe that Pasha competed as much as Artem and Jared so I am not sure why people think he has not competed much?

I guess I would pose the question - what experience does a pro need to be considered for SCD from a fan perspective?

I can't imagine everyone not falling in love with Pasha, whatever his qualifications are. I've never seen a bad word written about him on any of the forums I frequent. I'm certainly not dismissing the loss of favorite dancers who aren't in this series, at all (I really was shocked that they let Ian go, and can understand others being upset about Matt, Darren, etc). But he's good, and I think his personality will mesh well with SCD. I really can't wait to see him on the show.

I'm very pleased to hear Pasha is joining, i'm amazed he hasn't been snapped up by DWTS yet. I think he and Aliona will make a great pairing. I'm sad for Jared but pleased Artem is back, a little surprised about Robin though. I'm even more surprised about Anton, last year we were all sure it would be his last year and what do you know, he's back again. I don't mind though as i like him

Think its great that Pasha is joining, was an allstar and also did some choreography on lasts years Sytycd7 think he's also friends with Artem.

Weren't Pasha and Artem in the same series of SYTYCD? Maybe not ..... Pasha is a great dancer, I think he will be a fabulous addition to the pro line-up, and, as with Artem, Strictly is lucky to get him.

Personally glad Jarred has been dropped - his Latin was ok'ish, but his ballroom was perfectly awful (almost as bad as Anton's Latin!!!!!!!)

Artem was season 1 and Pasha was season 3. They both went on to do BTF. Pasha was with BTF off and on and went back to the All Star version of SYTCD where he partnerned new contestants for a couple of seasons.

Pasha just partnered Iveta Lukosiute in last month in a Jason Gilkinson routine on SYTCD. I don't know if he will come back and partner any more contestants this season now that he has signed for SCD. Unfortunately his partner Iveta was eiminated the next evening. I thought they danced brilliantly.

Thanks for the info. I knew I had seen both Artem & Pasha in SYTYCD and (huge shame) only the first 3 seasons were shown in UK.

An All-Stars SYT sounds great - bet the standard was quite amazing. I wish - really REALLY wish the US version was shown in UK still.

The Beeb, as we know, never go back (or admit they got it wrong). Looking forward, if one was going to be ditched it would likely be Jared and so it is. I hope the new guy's good, because otherwise the popular 'axed' pros argument will carry on (and rightly so).

Pasha was announced as an All Star on SYTCD US to partner a one of the remaining final 10 contestants next week. I am very happy to have him on my tv screen again but I can't see him partnering one of the final 4 if he has to be in London for rehearsals.

I think the last time they used him as an all-star he was only on for a week or two.

Read somewhere today that the All Stars are gonna vary on a week to week basis as they are all involved in other shows/projects (which is kinda understandable really)


Really think Pasha will be a boost to Strictly but as said above will miss some of the regulars that have been cast aside.

I totally agree with your comments on Ross, she never listened to the views of the audience last year, and I'm absolutely positive she will continue in the same vein.

It's utterly baffling why she keeps Anton (OAP) du Beke, and won't bring back talented dancers like Matthew Cutler and Ian Waite. My theory is that she won't change her mind because it would emphasise the big mistake she made in getting rid of them in the first place.

Same here but I also think they keep those that make the papers. Otherwise I don't see why Anton and Flavia are kept. They're great dancers in the routines on Sundays but neither bring a lot to the competition side I dont think. Anton's latin is not good. Flavia fits the celeb to the routine and not the routine to the celeb.

I'm not a avid poster on here and i dont make sure I watch every week so i suppose my thoughts dont count much. But I have watched a fair chunk of every series and both Ian and Lilia always had such fun personalities and generally had good relationships with their partners and gave them routines that worked for them. I'm sad they've gone when they always gave their partners 100%. I dont think the two above always do.

Pasha is a great dancer and I think he will be good on Strictly. I miss Mathews because his excellent in everything. But I have resigned to the idea that programs like SCD is another entertainment TV show that needs boost rating in order to fullfill the tv broadcast needs to stay in prime time and win the battle of the ratings.
We are a little percent of people who really like ballroom dancing and few follows the real competitions.Even when the champions came to the show to demonstrate some of the dances, most of the people here didn't like it. Now the show is trying to get the attention of some young, maybe not too young viewers that can give BBC a reason to let the program keep going. We'll see. I dindn't watch it life last year, I recorded and later watched it. But I didn't enoy it as much I enjoyed it previous years Will see this year.

I miss Camilla I know Natalie is a very good dancer but I can't warm to her. And yet again she will get another good one when really she should get a duffer this year

Camilla is a proven teacher - she did an amazing job with James Martin - and knows how to pitch choroegraphy that shows her celeb off - CRH went out of his way to praise Camilla as the best choroegrapher on the show and also said how good Lilia was

I will reserve judgement on Pasha until I see him in action. I won't miss Jared at all.
I would love to see Matthew back, and also Brian Fortuna.
Isn't it time Anton, Erin and Brendan retired? They look old now compared to the rest of them.
Still love Vincent and Flavia. Can take or leave James and Ola.
Am really looking forward to the return of "Strictly". Claudia will be sadly missed from "It takes too" though.
