Connecting PDA to nokia
Hi, I have a Nokia 6610i and an Ipaq 4150 and i would like to use the gprs connection on my nokia to surf the web on my Ipaq.
Both can communicate with each other using their infra red capabilities i beleive Does anyone know or can point me int he right direction of how to do this? |

I've only done this with vodafone and they have a piece of software called 'connect me' that you download from their site that sets it up automatically.
I'd imagine the other networks do something similar. |

You need to make a connection on the PDA suggested name 'O2 GPRS', input the necessary information and select generic IRDA modem as the modem.
Switch the IRDA on the phone (on my Nokia 5140 is Menu, 4,6,1) tap the connection on the PDA and it should connect to the phone via IRDA. I don't have my Pocket PC PDA with me today but I have used both Vodafone contract (does not need the software mentioned by flagpole, although it make thinks easier to configure) and Orange PAYG with a Motorola Accompli 008 both via GPRS and various Nokia's via CSD. If you want more info on setting up, just ask or check out: http://www.wapfreaks.net/ look under WAP settings. Some but not all info is there. |
