I can;t eat mince and potatoes

When I was a kid, I was taken to my aunty Grace's house. now this woman was the dirtiest woman I have ever met in my life (she's dead now god rest her soul) but lovely all the same.

So she makes me and my mum, mince beef and potatoes, just mince done with tinned mixed veg and served with mash.

I ate it, and to be fair it was quite nice, but on the tube on the way home I started feeling really ill, I ended up vomiting everywhere and was distraught.

I never ate at my aunty Grace's again

I also can't eat minced beef (unless it's in a chilli or a spag bol). I can't eat mixed veg from a tin, and put them all together, and I will throw up on you.

So.... what bad food experiences have you had?

I've never had a really bad exprience because I'm quite fussy but I would advise against eating Heinz tomato soup when you have tonsillitus. To be fair, I was only 7 and, as it had only just come on, my mum didn't realise how sore my throat was.

My daughter is allergic to tinned hot-dog sausages..we only realised this after she ate them at a friend's party only to spend the night projectile vomiting...after spending the evening scraping partly digested hot-dogs off walls, ceilings, carpets, just about everything in the bathroom and myself I don't ever ever want to eat/see/smell them ever again..Shame because I DID quite like them!

Aw bless her

The only time I eat tinned hot dog sausages is at 5am when the kebab shop is shut and I'm steaming lol

They have to have loads of ketchup for dipping as well

Sweet potato. I cooked a meal once and had just a few little drinks to assist me...well a few too many
Not long after eating the booze got the better of me and it all came back up. Can't face sweet potato again!

Beansprouts - I used to like them until one of my flatmates in halls cooked us a stir-fry (which was heavy on the beansprouts) late one night that made me very ill.

Chocolate (dark chocolate affects me more)
Fruit Juice (Orange Juice in particular)
things that contain gluten
things that contain MSG, aspartame
I can't eat dairy
^ all because of migraines.
I don't eat meat (by choice this one) and I can't have baked beans, they always give me a horrible aftertaste which is like vomit!! I also never have frozen desserts, or any desserts which are in a tin, because once I was violently ill when my grandma had microwaved me cake with custard. I was about 7. In fact I don't eat anything out of a tin except tinned tomatoes when I am adding them to recipes and heating them to a high temperature.

They weren't German beansprouts were they?

I so agree with this. A spam sarnie was lovely to me when I was about 10 but can't stand it now. Terrible stuff.

Corned Beef Hash. Used to love Mrs LCDMANs corned beef hash but they were serving it in hospital one night when I was having my chemotherapy and feeling especially sh!t. Now just the smell of it makes me heave, big time!

The trouble is my mum still tries to give me spam sandwiches when I go home (I'm 40!). When I try to decline she complains "well, you always used to like them!". I used to like rusks too...

I don't like battered cod, breaded ok.

I was really ill in school after eating it and now when I smell batter, it reminds of the day I vomited in school.

Just typing this makes me gag.
