Paul was the ultimate blagger, Baggs was a mere child compared to him.
Yes but he still always had the right bright ideas and won every task.

Yeah I think you've summed it up perfectly. Helen's prudery almost wrecked this task, yet she's still being touted as a contender.
How did her prudery almost wreck the task? I missed that. She was right in that it was going to be difficult to attract conservative advertisers.

Also, Natasha's £60,000 win is far more impressive than Helen's £6 win last week. Yet Natasha's excellent performance as PM gets no recognition. Perhaps it's because she's consider too uncouth and vulgar; unlike lovely, middle-class Helen.
For me it's because I don't think she "got" what the task was about. It should have been tasteful but she made it tacky. I also didn't like the way she dithered over whether Leon should do the pitch, and then said he could but jumped in half-way through.

She was better than Jim, I'll grant. She also had the stronger team.

Except for telling Glen that they should be using the more active shots rather than the 'knitting pattern' one.
Um, when? I just rewatched the photo shoot and she says nothing like that. In fact to camera she says, "I had no idea what was good and what wasn't".

Who said it had to be tasteful because Tom and Helen visited a middle class rugby club as their focus group.

That was hardly the common people.

Where does this idea come from that all men are classy and educated these days and above lads mags

The reason why I'm not that impressed with that is because this kind of task is so contrived and completely removed from the business world. They pitch to these companies who give Sugar a hypothetical number that they would like to purchase and every single year it looks like one team is going to win and suddenly the last company they read out just happens to want to buy a massive amount. It's so predictable that I basically said 'Natasha's team is going to win' when it looked like Jim had got more sales on the first two.

Of course all the tasks are contrived to a degree but at least when Helen was manager it had some semblance to the real business world. So I give her credit for understanding where it was they were going to make their money in that task compared to Natasha who didn't this week.

The best of those left for me are Helen and Melody with Tom 3rd. Tom is more a good right hand man then a manager.

My feeling is the company that bought into the magasine liked the content, which I also thought had some appeal. But the cover and some of the language was crude and that was mostly Natasha's doing and stopped the team doing even better than they probably could have.
It's impossible to know whether they would have paid 60K for the whole mag if it had had a classier image.

I thought that Tom and Helen had it right, but I don't know much about selling advertising.
