Zoe's the first person all series to stand up to Jim within the task. I suspect that earned his respect.

Would have been a bit hypocritical of him to bring her in the BR due to the name, especially after the pet task when he came up with the name `Everydog` and then tried to portion the blame onto the others for going with his choice.

Can't believe Jim didn't take her into the boardroom. She came up with that crap name!!

Really can't stand her, hope she goes soon.
But Jim changed the whole concept of what the name was about. Pay attention. Even Nick and the rest of the panel on Youve Been Fired acknowledged Zoe's contribution.

Zoe is awesome.

I actually liked her this week

Her idea was good even if the name was crap. If they had gone with the concept of 60 being the new 30 and pitched the magazine that way then they would have won.

There's no way she should have been fired for coming up with the name - it was part of a brainstorm and Jim's the one who decided to run with it.
She should have gone last week, though...
Though Jim was under fire from LS for the exact same reason: coming up with a name (Everydog) in a brainstorm....

I thought he was under fire for changing his tune - he took credit for it when he thought he was going to be praised and backed away from it when it was criticised.

I really did not like Zoe in the beginning, but she was more likable last episode. Jim did not bring her into the boardroom because he's afraid she is the one person who could bulldoze through his facade!

I don't think Zoe's concept was at all good. "Life begins at x" and "X is the new x" are amongst the most hackneyed concepts out there. The focus group said that they liked skiing and bungee-jumping and The Economist And Viz and humour and light-heartedness and said they wouldn't touch a magazine obviously branded for the over-60s with a barge-pole. They didn't say they wanted shitty ironic puns about how old they are and hip-replacements.

When Zoe was reeling off ideas for what old people could do to Jim, it was about fashion and getting into shape and being active and "getting out there". All those ideas made it into the contents page (with, I notice, another shitty pun based around the word "old") in the form of articles about fashion, travel, and exercise, and yet she still complained.

I don't think Zoe knew what she wanted, really, and completely missed the point beyond the sort of bland sludge she usually talks.
