Did you notice that on YF there was a "with regret" for Glen, but I don't remember it being in the main show

Yeah I noticed that. And the line about a leopard not being able to change its spots. Edited down for time on the main show I guess?

They probably edit out all the "with regret" to make Lord Sugar look meaner than he is.

So, technically, it was a "with regret" firing?

That's happened before in previous series. In fact, I commented about it at the time.

The editing of the firing on the main show was dire.....

One second LS was laying into Susan and then the next it was "Glenn - you're fired!"

When they showed it on "You're Fired!" it was totally different and showed the "with regret..."

I hardly ever watch the your fired show but I did watch it that time and didn't remember seeing it in the actual show.
I thought I had just missed it but obviously not.

Hence why I put the word "officially" in quotation marks

There have been a lot more on Young Apprentice, as he is generally a lot less harsh with them. There have been people on that that have had 'with regrets' that I just didn't understand.

Yeah, I know... personally I preferred it to the main series, and I find that in a lot of the discussions about the different series, some people don't really count Young Apprentice. I think that someone should add that to the discussion because it's quite an important factor sometimes, and that person generally tends to be me.

I enjoyed the two Young/Jnr Apprentice series. The one drawback for me was that I felt I couldn't really bitch about the contestants without feeling like a scumbag, because of their age. There were a couple I really didn't like, but I bit my tongue. It'd be bad form to to be publicly mean about a kid.

I was glad Rhys got a good send off from Lord Sugar when he was fired. Really liked that kid, he'll do well.

I have always been happy to talk about the people that I didn't like - and they're not really kids, they're like 16/17 so only a couple of years younger than the younger people on the adult show. I generally found there to be less unlikeable people on YA though.

I agree, even the unlikeable ones had likeable parts to them on YA generally.

I don't know why I would feel uncomfortable bitching about one of them. Maybe because I'm so much older? It would just feel mean (for me).

When he says 'with regret...' i always think it must mean he had a particular soft spot for that candidate and really wished he could have given them one more chance but feels he just can't With Jadine especially he seemed very sad to be firing her.

Agree. It's a sig of respect from him to the candidate and I remember that when he fired Ansell 'with regret' he also told him to keep in touch. I like it when Lord Sugar shows this side of himself.

Yes, that was a very gentle firing. 'With regret' and some friendly advice too.

Well I'm 19, so a bit closer in age to the YA candidates - maybe I can judge them more effectively because of that.

I find it interesting that you liked Rhys - he was one of the few on YA that I really didn't like. I didn't see anything special about him at all. He appeared very self-conscious about his height - which I would sympathise with, except for the fact that Arjun and Kirsty were both smaller than him, and generally appeared a lot more focussed.

I don't think we can count YA, because Sugar was especially nice to all of them because he didn't want to be accused of being horrible to children

In the adults version we get the real LS.
