I don't think we can count YA, because Sugar was especially nice to all of them because he didn't want to be accused of being horrible to children

In the adults version we get the real LS.
On the contrary, I believe that on Young Apprentice we saw more of what he's really like, in his personal life. On the main show, he has to live up to this image of being this big, aggressive, ruthless person - and he does that quite well, but I've always thought that underneath it all he seems like a really genuine, nice man. On Young Apprentice, maybe because he was possibly more passionate about that than about the main show (he certainly seems to be in interviews), we see him without all the layers are. Any fabrication of who he is doesn't matter so much.

I'm a Tottenham fan and I remember clearly the Sugar era...he's pretty ruthless. Terry Venables was ruining us financially and so Sugar bombed him out of the club, saving us from insolvency while he was at it.

We owe LS everything...but I think he is a very ruthless businessman. Mellowed out a bit now for sure.

Maybe ruthless was the wrong word for me to use, because he is ruthless, but I also see him as being a kind and fair man. I think that all he has done for charity over the years shows that. He comes across that way to me on the programme, and also I think it's all in how passionate he was about doing Young Apprentice and how angry he is at the BBC for cancelling it. He really wants to help young people succeed. I think he cared more about Young Apprentice than he did about the main programme.

And also, quite a few people on Young Apprentice were quite 'ruthless' as well. Zoe was focussed on doing the best that she could for herself. Zara didn't seem to care very much about making friends; she wasn't outwardly aggressive, but it was clear that she was there in a professional rather than a personal capacity. I think it is possible to be 'ruthless' without being a nasty person, and I think that that applies to Lord Sugar.
